Litecoin (LTC) has achieved a significant milestone, celebrating its 13th year since creation. Over time, it has become one of the leading methods for cryptocurrency transactions, sometimes outperforming Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in certain locations.

2024 saw Litecoin handle over 77 million transactions, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in digital payments. Notably, it surpassed Bitcoin as the preferred choice for transactions, with data from BitPay indicating that approximately one-third (37%) of all cryptocurrency transactions are made using Litecoin.

Its appeal is speed and occasional price, making it best for individual customers and groups seeking out less costly online payments.

Currently, one unit of Litecoin costs approximately $65.89. Over the past 24 hours, its value has increased by 0.5%. This digital currency boasts a market capitalization of around $4.95 billion and within the same timeframe, over $254 million worth of Litecoin was traded.

The latest partnership further boosts Litecoin’s adoption. PayPal has expanded its crypto offerings to the US. Business money owed, allowing traders to exchange and keep Litecoin. Additionally, MoneyGram is now available in the US.
