In a recent conversation with Lallantop, Anees Bazmee acknowledged that Katrina Kaif’s voice was indeed dubbed in the movie “Welcome”. However, he added that she provided her own voice for his 2008 production, “Singh Is Kinng”.
Anees Bazmee spoke about his time working with Katrina in Welcome, stating that she was actually learning Hindi while filming the 2007 comedy. He acknowledged her dedication as a professional and noted that she picked up the language during the production of the movie.
The director of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 expressed, “It seemed like we should assist Katrina too. However, her diction wasn’t as clear at that time. Therefore, it appeared quite peculiar to me.
The well-known movie director also recalled that he originally intended for Katrina’s character in “Welcome” to be based abroad and have returned to India. But it seemed like a contrived decision to him, the director noted, so he opted to replace her voice with another actress instead.
For those not familiar, Akshay Kumar starred as Rajiv Saini in the movie Welcome, while Katrina Kaif portrayed Sanjana Shetty. This 2007 comedy-drama also included notable performances from actors such as Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor, and Paresh Rawal in significant roles.
In this film, Nana Patekar portrayed Uday Shetty, a mafia boss, while Anil Kapoor took on the role of Sagar Pandey, also known as Majnu Bhai. Katrina played their on-screen sibling, Sanjana. Paresh Rawal acted in the role of Dr. Ghungroo under the direction of Anees Bazmee. The late Feroz Khan appeared on screen one last time as Ranvir Dhanraj X, or RDX, in this production.
