As a long-time Swiftie who’s been following Taylor’s career since her humble beginnings, I must admit that this latest announcement has sent my heart racing! The prospect of getting my hands on an official Eras Tour book and finally completing my Tortured Poets Department collection is nothing short of exhilarating.
Although we’re yet to see a re-release of Reputation, Taylor Swift is keeping her fans thrilled with upcoming releases like the Eras Tour book and hardcover editions of The Tortured Poets Department Anthology. Naturally, this announcement has sparked excitement among her followers, who are already having a blast on social media, speculating about these exclusive Target-only items coming out on Black Friday.
As a die-hard Taylor Swift fan, I’m beyond excited to share some fantastic news! To commemorate the grand finale of her Eras Tour starting this week, Taylor herself announced on Instagram about two awesome releases. First up, we have “The Official Eras Tour Book” and secondly, “The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology” in vinyl and CD formats. These exclusive items will only be available at Target, and they’ll drop on November 29, as shown in the video below! Can’t wait to get my hands on them!

It came as no surprise that Swifties flooded social media with discussions about these latest releases. From a book detailing every unique aspect of the Eras Tour (including the “22” hat and unscheduled songs) to the much-anticipated complete version of TTPD, overall, they’re ecstatic about it all. @john_6rande expressed this excitement succinctly by posting:
2024-10-15: It’s touching to think about how she has been holding the essence of my personality for the past two years. (#paraphrasing)
It turned out that many people were discussing the Eras Tour book being similar to a religious text, much like a Bible, as pointed out by @thisisluutrying.
Continuing in the same vein of enthusiasm, and highlighting the amusingly dedicated fanbase known as Swifties, @thisisertrying creatively employed an excellent Gilmore Girls meme to express their emotions towards a book that seems tailor-made for a stylish coffee table display.
It’s worth noting that Swifties are well aware of how much these items cost. Just like some fans have splurged a lot to attend her Eras Tour, buying her latest merchandise is also pricy. Although it doesn’t cost as much as the tour tickets, the total price for all three items comes close to $118 (before taxes). To give you an idea, Target plans to sell the book for $39.99, the vinyl of TTPD for $59.99, and the CD is priced at $17.99.
The $60 vinyl has Taylor Swift fans, or Swifties, in a whirlwind of amusing reactions, particularly when they see the attractive set of four Earth-toned records it includes. User @idid1thingright shared an incredibly funny perspective on buying the record with their post:
Simultaneously, @dearread3r shared a post reflecting on our continuous spending pattern as Swifties, using a fitting Squidward meme.
Just like how Swifties responded enthusiastically to the release of TTPD and speculated about when Rep might drop, their posts about these recent releases are filled with humor and light-heartedness, suggesting it’s all done in a playful spirit.
It’s likely that numerous people will be flocking to Target on Black Friday, battling each other as if they were competing for a significantly reduced TV. I hope they have a great experience. Now, let’s refocus our focus towards the Eras Tour, which kicks off its final leg in Miami this weekend!
