Venom 3 Star Tom Hardy Offers Surprising Response Regarding Spider-Man Crossover

As a film enthusiast who has been following the comic book movie scene for over three decades now, I must say that the ongoing saga of Venom and Spider-Man is one that never ceases to intrigue me. Tom Hardy’s cryptic responses about a potential crossover in “Venom: The Last Dance” have left us fans on the edge of our seats, much like how Eddie Brock clings to his symbiote during those intense action sequences.

As a passionate movie enthusiast, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for any updates about a possible team-up between Venom and Spider-Man, given Tom Hardy’s enigmatic comments on the subject. Ever since the post-credits scene in ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ hinted at Eddie Brock catching a glimpse of Spider-Man’s identity in ‘Spider-Man: Far from Home’, speculations have been swirling all over the web, with hopes that this collaboration would be more fulfilling than the unsatisfying finale of Sam Raimi’s trilogy. However, when ‘Multiverse Spider-Man: No Way Home’ hit the screens, we only got a post-credits scene featuring Brock being whisked away from his universe into the MCU, doubtfully questioning Thanos’ existence in a bar.

As the hype for Hardy’s last standalone Venom film intensifies, it was almost inevitable that discussions about Spider-Man would arise. Given the nature of such projects, those involved – actors, directors, and others – are typically sworn to secrecy. True to form, when asked about Spider-Man’s potential appearance in “The Last Dance,” Hardy, known for his love and versatility, struggled to keep mum, but managed to do so effectively during his interview with the press in Mexico (via @Venom3Verse).

There’s always a chance something could happen, but as of now, this is my final Venom film. If the opportunity arises in the future, I’d be thrilled about it.

Previously, Brock was returned to his own dimension following the conclusion of No Way Home‘s final act. Yet, a fragment of the symbiote remained behind and crept across the bar. So, at this point in time, Eddie Brock exists in a different universe compared to Peter Parker (specifically, the one portrayed by Tom Holland), but there’s still some of the symbiote left behind.

Tom Hardy Is Playing Things Suspiciously Coy

In the video you can see (feel free to watch it above), Hardy’s delivery is undeniably captivating. It seemed like he was going out of his way not to reveal what will happen between Venom and Brock. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, the past tension between Sony and Marvel Studios, with their deal falling apart in 2019 before being renegotiated, certainly adds fuel to the speculation that these characters may eventually clash (or alternatively, join forces).

The movie titled “Venom: The Last Dance” is, in essence, the final Venom film as of now. However, contrary to popular belief, it’s not definitive that Tom Hardy will hang up his Venom suit after this installment. It’s been confirmed that there will be additional Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland, given the fact that “Spider-Man: No Way Home” concludes with a new phase for the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Spider-Man character.

Why hasn’t Venom/Eddie Brock been able to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), or perhaps it’s the other way around? Given that the MCU is currently a more prominent brand compared to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which has faced challenges beyond the success of the two Venom films and the critically panned commercial failures like Morbius and Madame Web. Only time will reveal the truth, but for now, we can only look forward to Venom and Eddie Brock (and likely just them) battling Knull, the King in Black, when Venom: The Last Dance premieres on October 24.
