As a fan who has admired Jason Segel‘s work for years, his recent interview on the Today show was truly enlightening. It’s refreshing to see an artist like him prioritize personal growth over professional success, especially after achieving such remarkable feats in Hollywood.
Jason Segel is speaking openly about why he chose to step away from Hollywood after achieving fame with the hit series, “How I Met Your Mother.
The actor recently featured on the Today show, with Hoda Kotb discussing Segel’s choice to leave Los Angeles after wrapping up his CBS sitcom in 2014. She remarked, “You undertook something quite intriguing.” Many might have continued their Hollywood journey, but you chose differently. You relocated and distanced yourself from the bustle. Back in June 2023, the actor from “This Is the End” shared with the Los Angeles Times that he relocated to the tranquil town of Ojai, located in Ventura County, California.
He expressed that his stay there led to an intriguing realization, after about six weeks had passed, which was, ‘Wow, I feel so serene now.’ It struck him later on that when engaged in this role and residing in Los Angeles, one is essentially always confined within the campus.
As a gamer, I found it quite refreshing when folks outside of the gaming world asked about what I was up to, because they genuinely wanted to know what I was doing at that very moment. Not my current game projects or upcoming releases, but rather, “Hey, what’s new with you?” So, my response would often be something like, “Oh, I’m just heading out for a quick grocery run,” instead of, “I’ve got several games in active development.
