As a seasoned film critic with over three decades of Hollywood under my belt, I can confidently say that Aaron Eckhart continues to impress with his latest action-thriller, “Classified”. With a career spanning from the Dark Knight’s right-hand man to a fallen White House, Eckhart has proven time and again he can handle any role thrown his way. In “Classified”, he delivers another gripping performance as a CIA agent caught in a web of deceit, this time with Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth by his side.
After over three decades in the bustling world of Hollywood, Aaron Eckhart has hardly any uncharted territories left. Now, the seasoned actor is once more taking on roles, this time in the gripping action-thriller “Classified,” helmed by director Roel Reiné. This film is set to deliver an exhilarating rollercoaster ride. In Classified, Eckhart shares screen time with Abigail Breslin and Tim Roth. Their characters are a CIA agent and his MI6 analyst daughter respectively. When she finds him, she reveals that things aren’t as they seem; in fact, the person who’s been giving him orders for years is deceased. Together, they embark on a quest to unmask the true puppeteer, leading them to an astounding revelation that exposes a network of hidden secrets.
In a thrilling new snippet from the series Classified, we find Eckhart looking worried at an outdoor eatery. He requests the waitress to make a call, engaging in a tense discussion with an unidentified individual who ominously states he’s already deceased. Moments later, a car and an SUV suddenly appear, followed by armed men leaping out to attack their CIA objective. Eckhart skillfully escapes by running over one of the attackers, igniting a high-speed chase as the scene fades out.
Starting on October 22 across all video-on-demand platforms, this action thriller is brought to us by Saban Films, marking Eckhart’s third such movie of the year. He previously starred in Renny Harlin’s “The Bricklayer,” based on Paul Lindsay’s 2010 novel written under the pseudonym Noah Boyd, and later Jesse V. Johnson’s “Chief of Station.” Eckhart seems to have a fondness for this genre, having played roles in movies like “The Dark Knight,” “Olympus Has Fallen” (and its sequel, “London Has Fallen”), “Battle: Los Angeles,” and 2019’s “Line of Duty.” We’re more than happy to watch him in any role!
Aaron Eckhart Trades Bullets for Life Preservers in New Sharksploitation Movie
In the next Renny Harlin film titled “Deep Water,” Eckhart will appear alongside Ben Kingsley. This survival-horror movie revolves around a group of travelers from different nations, traveling from Los Angeles to Shanghai, who are compelled to make an unexpected landing in waters teeming with great whites. Facing the relentless attack of sharks attracted to the wreckage, they must unite their efforts to survive the ensuing chaos.
The upcoming film, as of now without a specified release date, is worth mentioning since it’s being produced by Gene Simmons, a member of KISS, in collaboration with Gary Hamilton, chairperson of Arclight Films. They formed their partnership in 2023, giving birth to Simmons/Hamilton Productions. This will mark their initial venture under this new production house. The film, titled Deep Water, appears to be an exciting entry into the Sharksploitation sub-genre, a category that has gained popularity lately due to movies like MEG, No Way Up, and the popular Netflix series Under Paris.
