As a gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the dark and dramatic worlds of video games like Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines and LA Noire, this ERL Pre-Spring 2025 collection strikes a chord with me. The blend of Hollywood glamour and vampire lore is reminiscent of those late-night gaming sessions where the line between fantasy and reality becomes blurred.
ERL plans to draw inspiration from old-school Hollywood for its Pre-Spring 2025 collection, focusing on the shadowy aspects of Tinseltown. Set in Los Angeles, ERL paints a picture of Hollywood in 1983 where a group of rock-loving vampires, known as “The Vamps,” roam the city for all eternity. In keeping with the glamour and drama of Hollywood, the collection is richly theatrical and reflects the sad fate of these characters as they spend their nights prowling the streets, symbolizing the youth, freedom, rebellion, and chaos that defined L.A.’s young rebels.
Titled “Hollywood Forever,” ERL takes inspiration from the industry’s most famous actors and their characters, namely James Dean, Mariyln Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor. He pays homage to these artists by featuring their black and white portraits on artisanal suiting pieces. Evoking decades of raunchy Hollywood parties, ERL brings the dark fantasies of Hollywood to the pre-spring season. Many of the pieces are constructed out of thrift store finds, including vintage dad stock fabrics. ERL’s signature styling codes are given a darker twist, including hand-aged Hollywod graphic tees, as well as hand-dyed heavyweight patchwork up-cycled hoodies, jerseys and more.
The laid-back California style of ERL persists as a popular trend, evident in their latest offerings. Included are a silk suit showcasing ERL’s distinctive “Hollywood Forever” graphic and punk jewelry reminiscent of Venice Beach’s atmosphere. Repurposed flannel shirts, patchwork grunge-inspired glamour slip dresses, handcrafted belt buckles, and more reflect cinematic characters in the ERL collection.
