The new trailer for the “Putin” biopic effectively covers all essential aspects typically found in such films, beginning by introducing viewers to one of the world’s most influential leaders even as a young boy. The movie then chronicles the life of the future Russian leader, starting with his childhood and progressing through his career as an intelligence officer. To create Putin, the filmmakers employ cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology in computer-generated imagery (CG), emphasizing significant events in his life, such as the 2002 Moscow theater hostage crisis and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Real actors portray Putin during his early years, while a Polish actor takes on the role for later periods, when digital enhancements are applied.
The movie will first be shown at the 53rd Kyiv International Film Festival in Ukraine, which takes place from October 26 to November 3, 2024. After that, it will hit theaters on January 10, 2025. What makes this project intriguing, apart from its theme, is that it blends reality with fiction. The movie’s storyline, as suggested in the trailer, portrays “Vladimir Putin’s swift rise and tragic downfall.
