As a long-time admirer of both Adele and Celine Dion, I was truly moved by their heartfelt moment at Adele’s Las Vegas residency. It’s not every day that we get to witness such raw emotion and camaraderie between two legendary artists.
On Saturday evening, during her residency in Las Vegas, Adele was moved to tears as she shared an emotional moment with Celine Dion while performing “Rolling In The Deep.
In online videos, Adele can be seen stopping during her rendition of “When We Were Young” to walk up to Dion who was seated in a box at Caesar’s Palace Colosseum. For almost two years, the British pop sensation has been residing there.
As they embraced, both singers became emotional, exchanging quiet messages that were inaudible to the audience. Later, Dion leaned forward to kiss Adele’s hand before she continued with her performance back on stage.
Following Adele’s announcement in July that she would be taking a lengthy break after wrapping up her Las Vegas residency next month and sharing no immediate plans for new music, there comes a quiet interlude among the stars. Meanwhile, this summer saw Celine Dion marking the release of her documentary, “I Am Celine Dion,” which chronicles her battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that has temporarily halted her performances.
Dion expressed during the premiere to The Hollywood Reporter that she hopes this documentary will allow people to understand several aspects of her identity – as a mother, an artist, a woman, and an ambassador. She explained that many individuals are clinging onto hollow hope, which can be quite dismal, and she had felt that way for a considerable period until she recognized that such a state was not truly living. She further stated that it wasn’t even dying; it was simply being stuck, and she no longer desired that situation. She believed she didn’t deserve it, especially considering her children.
