Why 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way's Wedding Episode For James And Meitalia Was More Frustrating Than Worthy Of Celebration

As a long-time viewer of 90 Day Fiancé franchises, I’ve seen my fair share of rollercoaster relationships, but James and Meitalia Solis’ storyline has been particularly turbulent from the get-go. While their traditional wedding in Indonesia was undeniably picturesque, it left me feeling uneasy about their future together.

James and Meitalia Solis momentarily paused their tumultuous journey depicted on “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” and instead, focused on their traditional Indonesian wedding ceremony. Although the event was filled with happiness for those involved in the series, I found myself brooding on my couch, still troubled by potential problems that might cause this “90 Day” couple to part ways.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my thoughts when even James’ biggest critic, Angel, seems to be giving the couple a pass. Despite blocking them due to the outrageous untruths they spread before this episode, I find myself compelled to speak up.

James Still Feels Confident Meitalia Will Go Back To The United States

Initially, I found this episode discomforting when James mentioned the overall awkwardness of the event. However, I chose to endure it without any complaints so his parents could cherish a pleasant memory in retrospect. Moreover, he subsequently highlighted that residing in Indonesia is not feasible long-term, and an occasion like this would make their departure for the United States a little easier to accept.

Shortly following this event, Meitalia observed her husband enjoying their time together in Indonesia, leading her to believe they would continue living there. However, this situation echoes my primary concern about James – his tendency to act independently without discussing decisions with Meitalia first. Combined with other warning signs, it suggests that James may not have been sincere about staying in Indonesia, a fact that wouldn’t be an issue if he had just been honest about it.

To be honest, he seems to be pouring all his efforts into convincing Meitalia about why it might not work out, but unfortunately, his arguments aren’t quite hitting the mark. It wasn’t at all clear from her confessionals that she was aware of James’ inclination towards moving back to the US, and that’s a result of poor communication on his part.

Meitalia Still Thinks Children Are On The Table, And James Doesn’t

As a sympathetic viewer of “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way,” I empathize with Meitalia’s predicament. Despite my disagreement with her belief that having children will appease her parents and strengthen their bond, I can’t help but feel compassion for the star. Just like her struggle to convince James to stay in Indonesia, she appears hopeful that he might change his mind about having kids, while he seems to be communicating this unlikely possibility to everyone except her.

It has been alleged by cast members of “90 Day Fiancé” that the show manipulates footage to present events differently than how they actually occurred, with the recent claim coming from Chidi Ikpeamaeze stating he hadn’t been dating Rayne Fernandez for a long time before filming, suggesting there might be some editing to make it seem like they frequently disagree on things.

Regardless of the situation, I can’t hide my disappointment and frustration over what seemed like an obligatory uplifting sequence, understanding that James and Meitalia’s issues remain unresolved. A satisfying resolution for their conflict would have made me far more content, but it appears their storyline might not be getting a conclusion this season.

On Monday evenings at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, you can catch “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way” on TLC. Here’s to hoping James and Meitalia work on their communication in upcoming episodes, leading to some good news about their relationship by the end of this season.
