American Express Launches its "Shop Small" Initiative For Another Year

As a seasoned gamer who has traversed countless virtual worlds, I have always cherished the small, independent businesses that bring vibrancy and uniqueness to my real-life adventures. The American Express Shop Small initiative resonates deeply with me, as it mirrors the spirit of camaraderie and support that I’ve come to value in both gaming communities and local high streets.

American Express recently launched its Shop Small campaign, an effort aimed at boosting small businesses. The goal is to inspire Americans to patronize their neighborhood shops, appreciating the advantages of shopping locally and helping nurture the thriving, innovative independent businesses in their communities.

For more than a decade, American Express has consistently backed small businesses through its Shop Small campaign. This year, they’re taking it up a notch by asking AMEX Cardmembers to rally behind their preferred small businesses. By nominating their favorite small business, these supporters provide them an opportunity to win one of ten £10,000 business grants.

Businesses that receive grants will be eligible for additional assistance from AMEX, aiming to foster and motivate the establishment of innovative fashion boutiques, bars, eateries, cultural venues, and community-oriented businesses. In partnership with these small enterprises, AMEX is collaborating with a variety of celebrities across different fields. For instance, Golda Rosheuvel, an ardent supporter of independent fashion labels such as SS Daley and Wales Bonner, has been appointed as a judge for the Champion Small Initiative.

Golda Rosheuvel expressed her enthusiasm about collaborating with American Express on the Shop Small campaign. She appreciates the vibrancy and originality that small, independent businesses contribute to the UK, and as a co-owner of Imma The Bakery – an award-winning establishment – she values their role in our communities. Additionally, she’s looking forward to being a judge for Champion Small, a program that encourages Amex Cardmembers to recognize their favorite small businesses by nominating them for the opportunity to win one of ten £10,000 business grants.

The American Express Champion Small initiative runs until December 7.
