‘The Avengers’ Stars Reunite to Brainstorm a Catchphrase for Kamala Harris Ahead of Election

As an avid gamer and Marvel fan, I must say that this recent get-together of the Avengers for a good cause was nothing short of exhilarating! It brought back memories of those epic battles we’ve fought together on screen, only this time it was to assemble for democracy.

With Election Day approaching, Scarlett Johansson coordinated with her fellow Avengers to create a promotional video encouraging people to vote.

In a video posted by Vanity Fair, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira and Paul Bettany gathered for a Zoom meeting to think up a fresh slogan for Kamala Harris as she faces off against Donald Trump. Their ideas drew inspiration from scenes in their various films, such as Iron Man and Black Panther.

Johansson described the video as quickly transforming into a competition of witty remarks among the participants. She mentioned Robert and Mark squabbling like old women, with herself being the one trying to keep everyone in check. It’s much like our dynamic in the films, she added. It was delightful to see everyone rally around it, and hopefully, it will encourage our fans to participate in the voting process.

Coordinating schedules for a project like this can be quite a difficult task, but the Fly Me to the Moon star reported that she’s received an unusually high number of quick replies from these individuals following her proposal in their Avengers group chat.

Everyone seems incredibly occupied and scattered around. Chris is filming a movie in Bulgaria, Robert’s performing on Broadway, Mark’s working on a different movie, Danai’s campaigning in Atlanta, and Don might be golfing somewhere – she chuckled about it. Remarkably, we managed to get everyone on Zoom simultaneously, which was both astonishing and amusing.

Johansson recognizes that folks are still grappling with a challenging few years, but she encourages them to maintain their gaze towards the future as they exercise their voting rights this year.

In essence, you’re not merely casting a ballot for four years, but for eight. I’ve encountered individuals who are disillusioned, feeling as if the result is predetermined. This apathy can breed complacency. I fervently hope that people will actively exercise their right to vote and engage in the process, particularly the younger generation, as they are shaping the future.

As a fervent supporter, I’m voicing my endorsement for Harris because the essence of kindness truly matters in who leads our nation. Empathy, another vital trait, is something she embodies wholeheartedly. Concerning Trump, I believe he might lack the ability to experience empathy. The unsettling aspect lies in having a leader devoid of compassion.
