As a movie buff with over four decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Hollywood never fails to surprise me. The latest proposal by Jon Peters, the notorious hairdresser turned movie producer, to make a film about Donald Trump‘s assassination attempt is undeniably audacious.
Renowned filmmaker and former hairdresser Jon Peters, known for productions such as ‘A Star is Born (1976)’, ‘The Color Purple’, and ‘Batman’, has expressed interest in creating a movie centered around Donald Trump’s July assassination attempt. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Peters detailed his idea for the film, which would begin by depicting Trump and President Joe Biden as children. If this project, proposed to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Oliver Stone (more information on that forthcoming), becomes a reality, Peters hopes it will eventually find a home on Netflix.
The narrative opens by depicting both Trump and Biden during their childhood years. It gradually reveals that Biden had an unusual fascination towards Trump, who, even at a young age, exuded a charisma reminiscent of a Hollywood star and boasted wealth.
Throughout his illustrious career, Stone has helmed numerous films with political undertones such as “JFK”, “Nixon”, and “W” (and more recently, he expressed doubt about the legitimacy of Trump’s 2020 election victory). Stone boasts an impressive resume that includes Academy Award-winning movies like “Platoon”, “Midnight Express”, and “Born on the Fourth of July”. Over the past couple of years, Stone has primarily focused on documentary production, with his last narrative project being “Snowden” in 2016. However, in August, it was announced that Stone was considering another narrative film project. While no specific details about the movie’s subject matter have been disclosed, he clarified to THR that he is not collaborating on an assassination film or any other project with Jon Peters.
Even though Peter boasts a career that spans back to the 1970s, he has faced allegations of sexual assault in various incidents from 1996 to 2008. These accusations have significantly impacted his standing in Hollywood. His latest contribution, the Bradley Cooper-led film “A Star is Born”, was more of a formality as he owns the rights for the movie’s initial version, but his actual involvement in the project was minimal.
Producer Jon Peters: Donald Trump is a “Genius”
During an interview with a media outlet, Peter shares more about his opinions on the assassination attempt and his backing of Trump. The well-known producer alleges that Biden and the government were involved in the incident, having enlisted someone who perceived Trump as an enemy and even the devil to execute their scheme.
“It is Biden and that whole sick group. Now, another thing, when Biden was deciding to leave [the presidential race], they were buying out his contract for $100 million. Because he’s broke, he has no money. Now the donors put up enough money to buy him off, to pay off his notes, to give him money, and then he decided to leave. “
In an interview, Peters implied that the project might make him a high-profile target and used the analogy of potential trouble from the IRS instead of a physical bullet. Additionally, during the conversation, Peters continued to express his admiration for Trump, describing him as a brilliant individual who genuinely aims to benefit people.
…”…Even if you believe this woman, Kamala Harris, might make changes, Trump has spent four years negotiating with tough characters worldwide. He knows how to get things done and his intellect is unmatched. He’s not just about personal wealth; he desires to make a positive impact. Many people suggest he could simply relax at home being rich. But, that’s not enough for him. He wants to create change, and I can relate to that sentiment.
The United States Presidential Election takes place on November 5, 2024.
