As a longtime fan of Chicago Fire, I must say that this latest twist in Pascal’s storyline has me on the edge of my seat! The suspense is palpable as Severide uncovers the dirty dealings of Captain Bishop and Pascal’s involvement. It seems that every time I think I have a grip on the characters’ lives, the show throws a curveball that keeps me guessing.
Spoilers ahead for Episode 6 of Chicago Fire Season 13, called “Birds of Prey.”
In the initial six episodes of Season 13, airing fall 2024, Chicago Fire proceeded without Pascal revealing much, but in the most recent episode, Severide managed to reach him. Interestingly, Severide believed he was confronting the chief for fraternizing with corrupt officials. Upon learning the truth, Severide pledged assistance to Pascal. However, it seems that Stella‘s husband’s actions may put her in harm’s way, as he has encountered a very dangerous individual.
At the site of a fire that had been put out, Pascal and Severide found themselves alongside Captain Bishop from the State Police. However, instead of allowing them to delve deeper into the potential arson case, Bishop decided to assert authority and halt their investigation. Later on, when Bishop casually mentioned a “Hendricks,” Pascal showed signs of unease, leading Severide to conduct further inquiry. The outcome suggested that Pascal might be working in concert with Bishop on some grave offenses.
At a crucial moment when it appeared as if Severide could expose Pascal before Herrmann took over as chief of 51, given his relatively positive response towards Pascal’s arrival, it was revealed that Dermot Mulroney’s character validated all of Severide’s accusations about Bishop being corrupt and himself involved. It was uncovered that Pascal had been acting on his own suspicions and had been collaborating with Bishop’s Internal Affairs to gather evidence and bring him down.
Pascal warned Severide against getting deeper, explaining that “Bishop isn’t afraid to use force and his threats aren’t idle,” and that he must keep the information they discovered to himself. Given the promo previews, it seems that Stella, being both Severide’s wife and Pascal’s wife, might bear the brunt of any repercussions more than either man. Regardless if you decide to watch “Birds of Prey” with a Peacock subscription, here’s a glimpse at what lies ahead:
When Andrea Newman, the showrunner, unveiled Stellaride’s storyline in Season 13, I hadn’t anticipated they’d encounter challenges such as a questionable State Police captain and Severide concealing information from her once more! Bishop doesn’t directly warn Stella in the sneak peek, but it’s tough not to feel uneasy after what Pascal disclosed about him in “Birds of Prey.
In the upcoming episode, we’ll need to see what his true intentions are towards her, as hinted in the promo, and I may ponder over how Pascal would have responded differently if Stella had approached him as Severide did. Despite this, I’m curious about his issues with her, considering he might address them following Carver‘s recent mistake, and it seems like their storyline isn’t fully resolved yet.
Find out what awaits Stellaride in the upcoming episode of their show, airing on Wednesday, November 13 at 9 p.m. ET. As per the regular schedule, Chicago Fire will be broadcasted, sandwiched between Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET and Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m. ET, both on NBC.
