Recently, Director Rohit Shetty addressed the online criticism I’ve faced. He acknowledged that handling such trolling wasn’t a walk in the park, but he’s overjoyed that people are now admiring my acting skills and focusing solely on my performance.
Reflecting on the buzz surrounding the trailer launch of Singham Again, I found myself amused by the discussions online suggesting a team of five to handle Arjun Kapoor’s portrayal. As a filmmaker, I neither faulted nor agreed with this perspective, as it ultimately comes down to individual opinions. However, I’m genuinely pleased to see that those same individuals have since changed their minds upon watching the movie.
Rohit implied that if the audience hadn’t taken a liking to Arjun or his portrayal of the main antagonist, they would have made a huge mistake. However, he commended Arjun for his dedication and disclosed that he had put in considerable effort.
Later on, Rohit discussed Arjun’s mental state while filming the movie. He pointed out that Arjun was going through a time when his movies didn’t do well and he was receiving criticism online. Rohit noted that he understood how social media operates these days.
He said, “It isn’t easy for any of us to deal with trolls and then perform well. But I’m happy that people have appreciated Arjun’s work. Singham Again has such a big cast but people are only talking about Arjun Kapoor.”
Previously, Arjun Kapoor posted some sneak peeks from the filming location of Singham Again on Instagram. He accompanied these images with a caption that read, “A suitable role at the appropriate moment, under a director who trusts you – sometimes, this is enough.
