As an avid gamer with a penchant for narrative-driven experiences, I must say that YOUR HOUSE left me thoroughly intrigued and eagerly anticipating its full release. Having had the privilege to delve into its captivating world during Indie Dev Day, I found myself utterly engrossed in this young girl’s story.
In essence, YOUR HOUSE serves as an origin tale for UNMEMORY, both being immersive narrative adventure games that resemble interactive storybooks with a plethora of puzzles and intricate details. At Indie Dev Day, I was fortunate enough to test-drive the demo of YOUR HOUSE, leaving me captivated and eager to unravel more of its enigmatic storyline.
The house you’re in offers a glimpse into the thoughts and struggles of a teenage girl who has faced numerous hardships. Having been expelled from multiple boarding schools, today marks another year of her life, yet it seems unacknowledged by those around her. After an incident that left her with a head injury, she’s now contemplating her future as she turns 18.
As I unearth a letter brimming with secrets, my heart races with anticipation – this could alter everything! A key, a fresh start, a postcard, if only I can reach it. YOUR HOUSE propels me on an exhilarating journey, where I’m interacting with words within the screen and untangling riddles. The visuals are skillfully woven throughout, serving not just as eye-catching backdrops but also as subtle hints to help me along the way. Similar to other point-and-click adventure games, an inventory of gathered items from my room is at my disposal – a treasure trove that could hold the key to solving the enigmas ahead!

I found myself thoroughly appreciating the perspective and aesthetic of many of these images and brief scenes. They seemed to enrich the narrative and harmonize with the writing. The puzzles were engaging, urging one to observe carefully and think critically. The hint system was well-designed, providing vague tips initially but becoming more explicit as they became necessary in each area, striking a nice balance between guiding and allowing room for independent problem-solving.
While staying at your place, I found myself greatly entertained by the trailer. It was filled with intriguing scenes and some of the puzzles left me pondering solutions! I can hardly wait to explore further, especially as we approach the unveiling of the next chapter and the game’s launch.
