As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the silver screen, I must say that the legacy of Sridevi continues to resonate profoundly within the hearts of many actresses, including Vidya Balan and Janhvi Kapoor. It is truly heartwarming to see how these talented individuals admire and draw inspiration from each other, even across generations.

Legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi, known for her exceptional versatility on screen, made an indelible mark with performances that remain etched in our memories. Actress Vidya Balan, appreciating her skill, lamented not having the chance to see Sridevi excel in action roles, as the opportunity is now past. Balan also praised Sridevi as a ‘masterful actress’, acknowledging her unmatched talent.

During a chat with Filmygyan, Vidya Balan was queried about actresses she respects beyond Madhuri Dixit, and those she’d enjoy acting alongside in the future. She confessed that she hadn’t given it much thought, but expressed profound admiration for Sridevi.

She expressed a wish that she could have seen the amazing talent of Sridevi on screen. In her opinion, Sridevi was an unparalleled actress who seemed capable of anything. However, it appears that such an opportunity will no longer be available since Sridevi is no longer with us. But she also mentioned Shabana Azmi, Waheeda Rehman, and Rekha as other great actresses whose work she would have enjoyed watching.

In a recent conversation with Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor revealed how influential Rekha has been in her life, particularly following the passing of her mother, Sridevi. She spoke about the strong sisterly relationship that existed between Rekha and Sridevi when Sridevi first joined the film industry, with Rekha offering guidance during difficult moments.

Janhvi looked back on the time when Rekha stepped in to guide her mother when she was struggling in the film industry, providing comfort during her initial years. Additionally, Janhvi remembered her initial encounter with Rekha at about age 14. After Sridevi’s unexpected death, Rekha, whom Janhvi affectionately called ‘Peddamma’ (which means ‘elder mother’ in Telugu), took on the role of mentor and source of strength for Janhvi.

For many years, the esteemed actress’s consistent backing has come in various forms – be it motivational phone calls, written messages, or attending functions together. Recently, Janhvi admitted that her endorsement holds significant value for her, as she feels their artistic views closely resemble those of her beloved late mother.

Currently, in her professional life, Janhvi Kapoor recently appeared in Devara: Part 1 (Telugu movie). Coming up next, she’ll be working with Varun Dhawan in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.
