Ahead of the Game: Go Go Muffin is an idle MMO for lazy adventurers, and we're all for it

  • Idle elements and quick progression
  • Ragnarok Online-inspired aesthetics
  • Bring on the dopamine

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Go Go Muffin has managed to carve out a unique niche for itself in the vast world of online gaming. With its idle elements and quick progression, it’s like having a pet dragon that levels up while you’re at work or asleep – only cuter!

Greetings and welcome to Ahead of Time Glimpse, a collection where we share exciting details about an upcoming game that is playable for you right now! As part of this series, you’ll get the opportunity to experience games before their official release, whether it be through Early Access, Beta Testing, Demos, or other means.

Instead of spending endless hours battling to save the world, why not let your character fight automatically and get it over with? That’s probably what XD Games had in mind while creating Go Go Muffin, and I’m grateful they did because it has significantly improved my gaming experience.

This recently introduced leisurely MMO (Multiplayer Online Game) seems to draw significant influence from the timeless Ragnarok Online, as evidenced by the fact that players can select their job class and embark on a journey through a fantastical world that mirrors the apocalyptic event of Ragnarok.

In this captivating game world, I find myself surrounded by enchanting characters and mischievous monsters that are simply irresistible! The landscape is lush and teeming with vibrant life, and a sly magical cat named Muffin serves as my trusty guide. Every now and then, after vanquishing an adversary, he’ll offer up a little melodious hum – it’s eerily reminiscent of the triumphant trumpet tunes that signal level-ups in RO, adding a delightful touch to my gaming adventure!

Frankly, I’ve never encountered a game that resembles this one because it transforms MMO gaming into an entirely passive experience. From the start, your character engages in continuous combat on the screen, continually leveling up while you transition from one monster to another wandering across the vast world.

In essence, it’s just about gearing up, enhancing abilities, and fiddling with the settings while your character takes care of everything behind the scenes. You can practically let Go Go Muffin run on its own, as it will automatically transition to a screensaver displaying the current date and time – making it feel like you’re not really playing at all.

You might wonder if playing yet not playing seems contradictory, right? That was my initial thought too, but after trying the CBT (which I assume stands for Closed Beta Test), I must admit that this somewhat unconventional MMO experience is something I never realized I needed in my life. As adulthood sets in and the desire to progress without the tedious grind becomes more prevalent, Go Go Muffin does an exceptional job of satisfying that craving.

So, how do you play Go Go Muffin?

Thankfully, XD Games is currently running its second and final Closed Beta Test from now until November 21st, so if you’re curious, you can sign up from the
official website
to give it a go yourself. Let the lazy adventuring begin!
