Tesla has once again recalled its Cybertrucks, marking the sixth recall of 2024.
2,431 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 2023 and July 2024 are being recalled, even though it’s anticipated that just 1% will have the issue. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, there’s a possibility that the inverter could fail to generate torque, potentially causing the vehicle to stop suddenly. This information was reported by Jalopnik.
When the inverter can no longer generate torque, you’ll lose control over applying power to the car via the accelerator pedal, causing a reduction in forward motion. This could potentially lead to an accident.” (Tesla’s report)
According to the company’s statement, although five warranty claims have been submitted, there have been no accident reports concerning the inverters. Starting in December, Tesla will start exchanging malfunctioning inverters.
