As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for keeping tabs on industry developments, I must admit, the recent changes at Amazon’s Prime Video have piqued my curiosity. The appointment of Andrew Bennett as VP, Prime Video Europe and his continued role overseeing global third-party device business development and partnerships is undoubtedly an exciting move.
On Wednesday, Kelly Day, Vice President of Prime Video International, announced to Amazon’s international Prime Video team that Andrew Bennett will take on a new role as leader of the Europe teams at Prime Video starting from January. This role includes not only managing the Prime Video Europe teams, but also overseeing the global development and partnerships for third-party devices related to Prime Video on a worldwide basis.
Bennett takes over the position of Vice President of Prime Video Europe, previously held by Barry Furlong, who is set to depart from his role with Prime Video by the year’s end, as announced by the company.
The company announced a promotion for him in his expanded position as VP of Prime Video Europe & Global Business Development. In response, they have appointed Sandhya Iyer to the global role of Head of Distribution and Partnerships for Prime Video. In this new position, she will handle business development, partner marketing, and the partner engineering team on a global scale. The company stated that Iyer will manage strategic partnerships between Prime Video and over 200 major consumer electronics manufacturers and cable operators, ensuring smooth integration of Prime Video into their systems.
In an email to the global Prime Video team, Day announced: “Andrew is set to leverage his 12-year expertise in various departments of Prime Video, including content acquisition, partnerships, business development, marketing, and product/tech, in his expanded position overseeing our European Prime Video teams. He will relocate to London and join our European regional teams by early next year.
