Singham Again director Rohit Shetty expresses desire to work with THIS new-gen actor, calls him 'Next Ajay Devgn'; Hint: You saw him in a teaser recently

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I have witnessed the meteoric rise of many talented actors, but none have captured my attention quite like Vicky Kaushal. From small roles to web shows and now leading the charge, his journey is nothing short of inspiring.

Rohit Shetty is well-recognized as one of Bollywood’s top directors, and his latest film, Singham Again, was a massive success, earning impressive revenues at the box office. Although Shetty has collaborated with many prominent actors, he recently voiced his desire to team up with Vicky Kaushal, calling him the “future Ajay Devgn.

During a chat on Mashable India with Mukesh Chhabra, Rohit Shetty was asked who among the new-age actors he’d like to collaborate with. Without hesitation, the director mentioned Vicky Kaushal, sharing that they frequently meet and discuss projects on different occasions.

He continued to elaborate, “Since my career resembles his, I find similarities to Ajay Devgn. There seems to be a ‘potential’ individual who could be the next Ajay Devgn.

When working on the film Simmba, Rohit Shetty, the director of Singham Again, remembered telling Ranveer Singh, “I believe you have all the makings of a true superstar.” He pointed out that Simmba was an extravagant movie featuring an over-the-top character capable of pushing boundaries while still winning over the audience. Impressed by his versatility, the filmmaker highlighted Ranveer’s talent by mentioning his roles in movies such as Gully Boy, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastaani, Dil Dhadakne Do, and Simmba.

In his view, an actor who can perform in various films is considered a “superstar,” with the fluctuations in those movies being a common aspect of the film industry. He pointed out that it takes around 20 years to truly evaluate an actor’s abilities, as he puts it, “He possesses certain qualities and I see similar traits in Vicky. Vicky seems capable of handling every genre.

In addition, the director emphasized Kaushal’s transformation from minor parts to online series and achieving success. If Rohit’s son wanted to start acting, Rohit would advise him to follow a similar path to Vicky’s. (In this paraphrase, I’ve used “transformation” instead of “journey,” “online series” for “web shows,” and changed the structure slightly for easier reading.)

Remarkably, Vicky Kaushal left everyone amazed with his transformed appearance in the grand saga, “Mahavatar,” a dramatic portrayal of the legendary figure, Chiranjeevi Parashurama.
