As a child of the ’90s, I vividly remember the impact Karan Arjun had on my generation. The iconic dialogue “Bhaag Arjun bhaag” was more than just a line to us; it was a battle cry, a rallying call that echoed in our playgrounds and backyards. So, when I heard that dialogue being used in Pathaan, it felt like a nostalgic nod to the past, a bridge connecting two generations of Bollywood fans.
The classic 1995 film Karan Arjun is preparing for a theater comeback as it approaches its 30th anniversary. In an exclusive chat with TopMob, director Rakesh Roshan discussed the enduring influence of this movie. He shared his thoughts on the well-known line “Bhaag Arjun bhaag” being utilized in Pathaan, where Salman Khan tells Shah Rukh Khan “Bhaag Pathaan bhaag.
Rakesh Roshan, speaking exclusively to TopMob, explained the reason for tweaking the dialogue in the Pathaan scene featuring Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan by saying, “The appeal lies in the fact that the dialogues, such as ‘My Karan Arjun will come’ and ‘Run Arjun run,’ have remained popular over time and are still being used today.
He added, “Even today, I find it pleasing when Kapil’s show portrays them as Karan Arjun sometimes. This suggests that the film left a significant mark at its release. Today’s generation is also familiar with those memorable dialogues, scenes, and more.
