‘Terrifier 3’ Had a Historic Theatrical Run
On October 11, there was a great deal of excitement for the third installment in Damien Leone’s independent horror series. Living up to expectations, it became the top-grossing film during its debut weekend, earning an impressive $18.9 million at the box office. This revenue surpassed Joker: Folie à Deux, causing it to leave theaters. In its third week of release, the movie surpassed the $50 million mark, setting a new record as the most successful unrated film ever made.
The fun didn’t cease there, instead, Terrifier 3 concluded its cinema run by amassing an astounding $85.3 million, a figure that becomes even more impressive when you consider it was made for only $2 million. This places it among the most profitable films of the year, which is truly remarkable considering it lacked mainstream support. There were no television commercials or persistent radio ads; instead, it relied on grassroots support from dedicated fans who had been with him since the start and tirelessly worked to promote the movie through word-of-mouth and online platforms.
How will Leone possibly surpass himself in Terrifier 4, given that Terrifier 3 showcased some of the most gruesome deaths within the series? It’s challenging to fathom where the depravity might escalate next, but we’re certain he can do it if anyone can. He has skillfully combined a fair amount of gore with his mythology up until now, so we eagerly anticipate more of that in the upcoming installment. Given Terrifier 3’s ending, it seems likely that Sienna will encounter Art on his native ground in the next film.
