As a die-hard fan of Emma Mackey, I am beyond thrilled to witness her meteoric rise in Hollywood! From her breakout role in Sex Education to her recent turn as Barbie in the blockbuster film of the same name, this British actress has proven she can handle any role thrown her way.
Actress Emma Mackey, well-known for her role in Netflix’s “Sex Education,” has secured the main female part in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming film yet to be named by Warner Bros.
This year’s “Barbie” actress, who raked in a billion dollars for the studio, will team up with Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega, forming what’s called a trio of main characters.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been eagerly anticipating Abrams’ script for an upcoming feature film. Though the logline and plot details are still under wraps, there were rumors suggesting time travel might be involved. However, it seems those speculations were just that – speculations. Regardless, I can hardly wait to uncover the secrets hidden within this mystery box!

The project, which Powell joined in May, has been brewing for several months, and it’s now set to be filmed live in front of cameras at the beginning of next year.
Over the last few years, Mackey’s career trajectory has been reminiscent of a slingshot’s flight path. In this timeframe, she has taken on notable roles such as playing the lead in “Emily“, a fresh interpretation of Emily Brontë’s life which garnered her two nominations for British Independent Film Awards.
In the can is Hot Milk, an indie from Film4 and HanWay Films that also stars Fiona Shaw andVicky Krieps. She also has on deck 20th Century Studios all-star comedy Ella McCay, written and directed by Jim Brooks.
