Aubrey Plaza's Death Behind The Scenes Of Agatha All Along Was Horrifying

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for all things Marvel and a soft spot for practical effects, I must say that Aubrey Plaza’s transformation into Lady Death in “Agatha All Along” was nothing short of jaw-dropping – pun intended! The dedication and skill put into the makeup by Erin LeBre, Addison Clarke Foreman, and Heather Beauvais are truly commendable. It’s not every day you see a real-life Ghoul from “Fallout” or an Evil Dead 2 poster come to life on your screen!

In the chilling series “Agatha All Along,” characters endure harrowing, terrifying deaths; it’s the darkest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. By the end, Lila (played by Patti LuPone) sacrifices herself by being impaled on a spiked ceiling to save the coven, Sharon Davis (Debra Jo Rupp) takes poison, and other tragic ends befall the coven members. As for Rio Valdez (Aubrey Plaza), who embodies Lady Death, her death is necessary before she can be reborn on the Witches Road and commence her journey. After being buried alive, she emerges with her teeth and jaw exposed, and her nose missing – a grisly blend of “Fallout’s” The Ghoul (portrayed by Walton Goggins) and an “Evil Dead 2” poster.

As a gamer, I can tell you firsthand that Plaza’s chilling portrayal of Death wasn’t some fancy CGI trick, but the brilliant work of makeup artists. Erin LeBre was in charge of crafting Lady Death’s eyes and brows, while Addison Clarke Foreman and Heather Beauvais handled the lower mandible and nose prosthetics. In essence, they made Plaza look just as eerie in real life as she does on your screen. According to LeBre’s Instagram post, it took a considerable amount of time and effort to perfect Rio’s transformation, but it was worth it. The fans seem to agree, showering praise on LeBre, and the show’s audience has been nothing but complimentary about their work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
