The Hating Game's Lucy Hale And Bridgerton's Luke Newton Are Gonna Be In A Movie Together, But I'm Shook It's Not A Rom-Com

As a seasoned gamer and avid fan of both rom-coms and sci-fi thrillers, I must admit I was initially taken aback when I heard about Lucy Hale and Luke Newton teaming up for the sci-fi thriller “White Mars.” Given their recent success in these genres, it felt like a surprising move. However, upon further reflection, I realized that this could be a masterstroke of casting, pushing these talented actors out of their comfort zones and potentially creating something extraordinary.

Lucy Hale, famous for her roles in several romantic comedies on popular streaming platforms, is now gearing up to appear in the big-screen sci-fi thriller “White Mars.” Given her past success with thrillers, as she rose to fame from “Pretty Little Liars” (a role she almost didn’t get), it might seem unusual that Hale is shifting away from romantic comedies for this project. This is particularly interesting considering her co-star is Luke Newton, who gained prominence in the series “Bridgerton.

According to Deadline, it has been announced that Newton is going to collaborate with the Ragdoll star in White Mars. This sci-fi thriller will focus on Sammie (Hale) and Leo (Newton), who must unite to protect their fellow crew members at a secluded Aquilla Research Facility, as they face a mysterious entity intent on eradicating everyone there.

As a gamer who’s been hooked on Netflix’s Bridgerton and found myself as half of its Season 3’s lovebird duo, and a guy who’s got quite the rom-com history like Hale, it’s unexpected that our first joint project strays far from the genres we’ve been thriving in lately. However, White Mars isn’t entirely devoid of romantic aspects; it appears this film will primarily embrace the sci-fi/thriller realms instead.

I Was Really Annoyed With Bridgerton’s Colin At The End Of Season 2, But Two Season 3 Moments Have Completely Changed My Opinion

Indeed, the upcoming film titled “White Mars” appears to be emphasizing its science fiction aspects by choosing to film the entire production within a virtual environment. While it’s true many films utilize virtual production techniques, this one will stand out as one of the few, if not the only, to be shot entirely with such technology, following in the footsteps of Jon Favreau’s “The Lion King.” Whether this approach will prove beneficial is yet to be determined, but with Hale and Newton at the helm, audiences can expect nothing less than exceptional acting.

Despite the film appearing intriguing, I can’t help but feel a tinge of disappointment that these two talented actors haven’t collaborated for a heartwarming romantic comedy yet. There’s always a chance this movie could lead to future partnerships between them, though. In fact, it’s not uncommon for actors to appear in multiple unrelated movies together – particularly in the realm of romantic comedies. So, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that they’ll work together on a romantic comedy someday because I believe it would be an outstanding addition to the genre.

In the meantime, romantic comedy enthusiasts can satiate their cravings by checking out other works from Hale and Newton. However, it’s worth noting that a few subscriptions to different streaming platforms will be necessary to access all of these titles. On Hulu, you can find Hale’s movies “The Hating Game” and the latest rom-com, “Which Brings Me To You.” As for Newton, his work in the first three seasons of “Bridgerton” on Netflix provides a glimpse into his romantic comedy prowess, with Season 3 being particularly noteworthy. Don’t forget to stay tuned for updates on Season 4 and their upcoming film “White Mars.
