Phantom Wallet Surpasses WhatsApp, Instagram in iOS Rankings

The well-known digital wallet for cryptocurrencies, Phantom, has accomplished a significant feat, climbing to its highest-ever position on the iOS App Store rankings. On Wednesday, Phantom managed to climb into the top 10 free iPhone apps for the very first time, landing at the 9th spot.

Among the most popular free apps, it excelled even beyond heavyweights like WhatsApp (ranked 13th) and Instagram (ranked 14th), with only TikTok, in 8th place, outperforming it. Notably, on the App Store’s list of top free utility apps, Phantom took the second spot, trailing only Google’s search engine app.

In just seven days, Phantom shot up from being ranked 377th on November 12 to being among the top ten. This wallet, initially based on Solana, now provides support for Ethereum, Bitcoin, Base, and Polygon, giving users an extensive variety of options.

Phantom’s squad has been growing swiftly, and on January 2022, they secured $109 million during their Series B round of funding, which increased the platform’s worth to a staggering $1.2 billion. Incidentally, this was also the day that Phantom introduced its iOS application.

The rising fame of Phantom indicates a heightened curiosity in non-custodial wallets, as these tools empower users with greater control over their digital assets. Being well-established on iOS, Phantom has become a preferred pick among crypto fans seeking a safe and user-friendly wallet solution.
