As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive mobile experiences, I must say that Mistland Saga has piqued my interest like no other ARPG has done in recent times. You may be familiar with Tennis Clash, Sky Warriors, and War Machines, all games developed by Wildlife Studios. However, there’s a new game you might not have come across yet: Mistland Saga. That’s because it’s currently being soft-launched in select markets only.

The game titled Mistland Saga, as suggested by its extended name on the AppStore, is essentially a Role-Playing Game (RPG). More precisely, it’s a semi-automatic mobile RPG that has gained popularity recently. Each mission or task in this game consists of brief episodes, transporting you to different regions where you traverse through a dozen or so ‘rooms’, searching for keys, collecting mission items, and battling bosses.

It’s incredibly clean, if you will. By this, I don’t mean it’s basic; rather, they’ve eliminated much of the confusion often found in the crowded menus and interfaces of other action Role-Playing Games (aRPGs). A more fitting term could be “simplified.

In this game, you often find yourself managing your inventory due to its limited size and shorter missions. This is typical for games where the goal is to acquire larger weapons to defeat larger enemies, who in turn drop bigger weapons. Just make sure to stop by a shop before embarking on most adventures.

In these missions, it’s not just about charging ahead and killing; there are treasures, fountains, doors, and numerous other interactive objects. I found myself in a bind, running low on health, attempting an action at a fountain that had a high risk – if I failed the dice roll, drinking from it could have been fatal. Yet, I went for it, adding an exciting element to the game that suggests more thoughtfulness was put into its design compared to some other games.

In my opinion, what truly grabs my attention in Mistland Saga are its engaging writing and vibrant art style. Unlike many post-apocalyptic games, this one is more uplifting and cheerful, yet not overly so that it feels like a typical fantasy world. Although some quests were just A to B tasks, I appreciated the fact that they incorporated characters with defined goals and made an effort to interconnect them. I’m excited to see if they expand on this aspect as the game progresses during its Soft Launch phase.

So, how do you play Mistland Saga?
