As a fashion enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the world of streetwear and contemporary design, I can confidently say that Eli Russel Linnetz’s ERL Holiday 2024 collection is nothing short of a masterpiece. Having followed his journey from the early days of his career, I’ve witnessed the evolution of his unique West Coast sensibility into a full-blown design language that resonates with the masses.
Eli Russel Linnetz, both designer and creative director, has unveiled the inaugural holiday collection for his personal brand ERL. The collection presents a joyful perspective on ERL’s laid-back West Coast vibe by incorporating a festive twist.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share the intriguing organization of this collection into two main color narratives. The initial story revolves around a vibrant red reminiscent of traditional Christmas patterns, specifically a striking plaid. Contrastingly, the second tale leans towards a subtle, neutral palette with soft washes of brown and beige.
In the middle of the style spectrum, ERL presents the Patchwork Heavyweight Zip-Up Hoodie in a brown hue, featuring plaid panels, long-sleeved checked shirts, a vintage Venice graphic tee, and relaxed corduroy bottoms with distressing. On the more lively side, the classic red plaid is used on the iconic ERL swirl hoodie, accompanied by a matching plaid shirt and a solid red pocket tee. The assortment concludes with a variety of plaid boxers and cozy ERL-labeled terry socks in solid colors.
Alongside designing items for Pharrell’s latest GQ feature, ERL also gained significant recognition by creating a unique pin belt for Kendrick Lamar, which was showcased in the album art and music video for his new project, GNX. This distinctive belt was handcrafted using an exclusive collection of rare, vintage pins, carefully selected at their Venice Beach studio. Although this special piece is not part of the holiday collection, the variety of items ranging from socks to plush coats provides a taste of ERL’s Venice aesthetic for everyone.
The ERL holiday collection is available now at the official ERL web store.
