Harris Dickinson Responds to Beatles Biopic Casting Rumors

As a seasoned movie enthusiast with a keen eye for emerging talent, I find myself intrigued by the enigmatic Harris Dickinson and his ongoing association with the upcoming Beatles biopics. With each new tidbit of information that surfaces, my curiosity is piqued further, much like a cat on the hunt for its next prey – or in this case, a role in an iconic film project.

There’s been a lot of talk for quite some time now about Harris Dickinson possibly being part of Sam Mendes’ upcoming quartet of films focusing on The Beatles. It’s been whispered that Dickinson might take on the role of the late John Lennon in Mendes’ ambitious endeavor. Known for his impressive filmography, which includes movies like “American Beauty”, “Road to Perdition”, “Skyfall”, and “1917”, Mendes is set to direct four separate biopics, each focusing on a member of the iconic rock band.

In a recent chat, I found myself discussing the tantalizing upcoming flick, “Babygirl,” with its director Dazed. He was understandably tight-lipped about the swirling rumors surrounding his potential involvement in Mendes’ biopics. To be clear, he didn’t flat-out deny it, but neither did he give a definitive yes. So, for now, we can only wait and see!

“There’s nothing I can say about that; it might not be true, it might be, I don’t know… there’s a speculation culture.”

New actors under consideration for roles are Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Charlie Rowe or Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Although director Mendes hasn’t confirmed any cast members yet, Beatles drummer Ringo Starr hinted during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that Barry Keoghan may play him in the upcoming films. When asked about Keoghan’s involvement, Starr suggested:

“I find it wonderful.” He quipped: “I suspect he’s learning drums, and I really hope he doesn’t overdo it.

Harris Dickinson’s Star Continues To Rise On Screen and Behind the Scenes

Dickinson’s acting career gained momentum with his standout performance in the 2017 coming-of-age drama “Beach Rats.” Since then, he has graced numerous critically acclaimed films such as “Triangle of Sadness,” which won the Palme d’Or, and “Where the Crawdads Sing” adaptation, as well as A24’s autobiographic sports drama titled “The Iron Claw.” For his acting in the Hulu and FX miniseries “A Murder at the End of the World,” Harris received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the BAFTA TV Awards.

In the upcoming month, it’s yet unclear if Dickinson will play the famous deceased Beatles guitarist, but his new movie, titled “Babygirl“, is set to hit theaters. Starring alongside Nicole Kidman and Antonio Banderas, this thrilling erotic drama revolves around a CEO (Kidman) who jeopardizes her career and family for an affair with a younger intern (Dickinson). Meanwhile, Dickinson is also working on his directorial debut, “Dream Space“, where he portrays a drifter trying to find his place in society. As stated by him, this film (filming began in June), focuses on individuals who fall through the cracks, exploring themes of mental health and societal failure.

2027 will see the rollout of Mendes’ Beatles biopic series, with gaps between each film’s debut. This marks the first instance where The Beatles have granted their entire life and music rights for a movie. The news about these films was announced in February, sparking widespread anticipation. Upon the announcement, Mendes expressed his delight at being given the opportunity to narrate the tale of the most iconic rock band ever, and his eagerness to redefine what it means to go to the cinema. We can’t wait to embark on this musical journey alongside Mendes, Keoghan, and the actors who will portray the remaining Beatles.
