Super Bowl Pregame Performers: Jon Batiste, Lauren Daigle, Trombone Shorty and Ledisi

As a seasoned gamer with a passion for music and football, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming Super Bowl in New Orleans! The city’s rich musical heritage is being showcased beautifully with Jon Batiste leading the charge for the national anthem, a collaboration between Christian singer Lauren Daigle, jazz musician Trombone Shorty for “America the Beautiful,” and R&B vocalist Ledisi performing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.

The upcoming Super Bowl is set in New Orleans, with local icons like Grammy-winning artist Jon Batiste performing during the pre-game show, celebrating the city’s unique charm known as the Big Easy.

On Thursday, I learned that Batiste is set to perform the National Anthem at the Caesars Superdome on February 9th – that’s when the big game happens! Christian singer Lauren Daigle and jazz musician Trombone Shorty are teaming up for “America the Beautiful”, while R&B vocalist Ledisi will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” This epic event will be broadcast live on Fox. I can hardly wait!

Seth Dudowsky, head of music at the NFL, expresses his pride in collaborating with this year’s pre-game act lineup. He explains that these artists will help us honor the deep musical heritage of New Orleans and the entire state. The Super Bowl offers a unique opportunity to connect fans worldwide, and this year’s performers will infuse the event with the excitement, heart, and lively tunes characteristic of their region. As we prepare for Super Bowl LIX, our aim is to create an unforgettable celebration that reflects the soul and spirit of the occasion.

Kendrick Lamar is set to be the main act at this year’s halftime show, marking his return to the prestigious event three years after sharing the stage with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Eminem, and 50 Cent. This talented group, overseen by executive producers Jay-Z and Jesse Collins, previously won a Primetime Emmy for their exceptional live variety special, which they co-produced.

During the pre-game festivities and halftime spectacle, Stephanie Nogueras, Otis Jones IV, and Matt Maxey will each provide American Sign Language interpretations. Stephanie will sign the national anthem and “America the Beautiful,” Otis will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” and Matt will sign Lamar’s halftime performance in ASL. The ASL performances during the pre-game and at halftime will be backed by Alexis Kashar of LOVE SIGN and Howard Rosenblum of Deaf Equality.
