SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is set to open a network test in the new year for US players

  • SD Gundam G Generation Eternal is not dead, despite a lack of news since 2022
  • In-fact it’s set to hold an upcoming network test that’ll allow entrants from the US
  • 1500 spots are available, with applications now open

As a seasoned gamer with years of Gundam fandom under my belt, I can confidently say that the news of SD Gundam G Generation Eternal’s upcoming network test is music to my ears! Growing up, I remember collecting those SD Gundam kits and dreaming of commanding these iconic mecha in strategic battles. Now, it seems like my dreams are about to come true, thanks to this new entry in the strategy JRPG franchise.

Exciting news for Gundam enthusiasts! The forthcoming SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, the new installment in the strategy RPG series, is very much alive and kicking! What’s more, it will host a network test open not only to players from Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong, but also those residing in the United States. Applications are being accepted until December 7th, offering 1500 fortunate participants a sneak peek of the game between January 23rd and 28th, 2025.

In the world of SD Gundam, you’ll assume the positions of numerous characters who pilot the legendary mechs, guiding them in tactical grid battles. By “numerous” pilots, we mean almost all of them, as the expansive SD Gundam universe is renowned for its immense collection of mecha and characters that span across the entire franchise.

You might not have heard about it, but there’s another beloved series from the same Japanese mecha franchise – the SD Gundam line. The term “SD” stands for “super deformed.” These are scaled-down, stylized model kits that allow fans to build adorable, squashed versions of famous mecha. At one point in time, these miniature models were so popular they even surpassed the original series’ popularity!

Coming to America

Without a shadow of a doubt, enthusiasts of the Gundam series are likely to rush towards the latest installment in SD Gundam. However, it’s worth mentioning that games from Bandai Namco for this franchise have had their ups and downs in terms of quality or have been unfortunately canceled prematurely. Here’s hoping that SD Gundam G Generation Eternal, a title that might give you repetitive strain injury just saying it, will stand out as one of the stronger releases!
