As a seasoned Trainer with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement as Niantic announces the Holiday Part One event in Pokémon Go. From December 17th to 22nd, this festive period promises double XP for catching Pokémon and halved hatch distances for Eggs – a dream come true for us dedicated trainers!
The upcoming holiday period is nearly upon us, with Niantic kicking off the initial phase of their festive event in Pokémon Go. From December 17th through the 22nd, players can look forward to numerous perks, unique experiences, and holiday-themed challenges!
During Holiday Part One, you’ll receive double experience points for capturing Pokémon and have the advantage of halved egg hatching distance. A festively dressed Dedenne will make its introduction, with a chance to encounter its shiny variant if you get lucky. Besides Dedenne, Shiny Sandygast will also debut for the first time.
Out in the wild, you’ll encounter Pokemon such as Alolan Sandshrew, Swinub, and Darumaka. Special events will also showcase these creatures dressed for the occasion. One-star battles offer Pikachu adorned in a Winter Carnival costume and Psyduck in festive holiday garb. For those seeking a tougher challenge, you’ll find Glaceon wearing an Undersea Holiday ensemble during two-star battles, and Cryogonal appearing during three-star raids. Mega Raids will feature the impressive pair of Mega Latias and Mega Latios.
During this time frame, hatching eggs over a distance of 7 kilometers might uncover Pokémon like Hisuian Growlithe or Cubchoo adorned with holiday decorations. If you’re seeking rewards, there are event-related Field Research tasks and a Timed Research option for $2.00 on offer. These activities provide encounters with themed Pokémon, Premium Battle Passes, and additional perks.
Collection Tasks reappear, with the goal of capturing and raiding. Accomplishing these tasks rewards you with Stardust, Poke Balls, and Great Balls. Be on the lookout for Pokestop Highlights too, where you can display your event-themed Pokemon. Furthermore, grab some freebies by redeeming these offers.
To wrap things up, the Pokémon Go Web Store is currently offering two special promotions, valid only for a limited period. The Ultra Holiday Box, priced at $4.99, includes an enhancement for your Pokémon Storage and Item Bag, as well as 17 Rare Candies. If you’re in need of resources, the Holiday Part 1 Ultra Ticket Box might be just what you’re looking for. This box, retailing at $6.99, provides access to special Holiday events and an additional Premium Battle Pass as a bonus.
