As a fan who has followed Timothée Chalamet‘s career from his breakout role in “Call Me By Your Name,” I must say that I was taken aback by his recent appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay. While I knew he could act and sing, I never imagined him discussing college football with such knowledge and enthusiasm! It’s as if the man has been hiding a secret sports fanatic inside him all this time.

It’s clear that Timothée Chalamet possesses a variety of skills, with acting being just one of them. His exceptional performances in numerous films have proven this. Additionally, he has musical talents, as demonstrated by his role as Bob Dylan in the 2024 film “A Complete Unknown.” However, what stands out to me the most is his knowledge and ability to discuss sports, which was on full display during his appearance on ESPN’s “College GameDay.” In fact, his performance was so impressive that I believe he could potentially transition into sports commentating.

30-year-old actor is currently busy with a promotional tour for the much-awaited film “A Complete Unknown”. He took a break from his schedule to appear as a guest on a popular talk show, which was previously mentioned. On this ESPN program, the star of “Dune” acted as a guest picker, predicting winners for the day’s college football matches. When someone makes such predictions, they need to be accurate, and it appears that the Oscar nominee indeed conducted thorough research. Here’s the TikTok video below:

To clarify, I never thought Timothée Chalamet was a sports amateur. But hearing him talk about college football in such depth leaves me quite surprised. It’s almost as if he’s using his exceptional acting skills here, but who knows? Regardless, I’m equally amazed along with other fans who’ve commented on the post. Notably, fellow actor Glen Powell, a die-hard Texas Longhorns fan, has shown his support for Chalamet on Instagram.

There’s a hint of humor in my statement, but it’s not entirely far-fetched to suggest that the former ‘Call Me by Your Name’ star could potentially transition into an analyst role someday. His charisma and confidence are undeniable, as he manages to keep pace with the more experienced panelists on College GameDay. To be frank, his current mustache adds a touch of authenticity that I can’t deny.

Timothée Chalamet Totally Crashed A Timothée Chalamet Look-Alike Contest, And The Video Is Great

It appears that Timothée Chalamet, who’s been enjoying significant success lately, seems unlikely to switch careers, considering his current trajectory. This year, he has contributed to several high-profile projects such as “Dune: Part Two,” which is now available for streaming with a Max subscription, and “A Complete Unknown,” which has already received positive feedback on social media. Interestingly, he’s also involved in a sports film titled “Marty Supreme,” directed by Josh Safdie this year.

Given my preference for basketball over football, it’s exciting to imagine Willy Wonka trying out as an NBA or college basketball commentator. Given his success on ESPN, it wouldn’t be shocking if he excelled in this role too. Although the chances of him doing so might be small, considering his New York background, I remain hopeful that one day he’ll join a Knicks broadcast, adding even more insightful sports commentary to his repertoire.

On Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Eastern Time, ESPN’s College GameDay airs, making it essential viewing as the regular season nears its end and bowl and championship games approach. Additionally, don’t forget to catch A Complete Unknown when it hits theaters on December 25th. Until then, you can enjoy some of Timothée Chalamet’s top films instead.
