As a seasoned gamer and fashion enthusiast who has spent countless hours traversing virtual landscapes and digital cities, I can’t help but feel a strange sense of nostalgia upon seeing Engineered Garments’ Spring/Summer 2024 collection inspired by the Lost Generation. The blend of Hemingway’s timeless style and Engineered Garments’ design ethos is as appealing to me as a perfectly crafted quest in a role-playing game.
To wrap up 2024, Engineered Garments is peering back in time. Under the leadership of Daiki Suzuki, the brand is envisioning the values and styles of the ‘Lost Generation’ of the 1920s for its Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Fittingly named “Invoking the Essence of the Lost Generation,” this line of clothing takes inspiration from well-known Lost Generation figure, Ernest Hemingway, translating his iconic style using Engineered Garments’ design perspective.
As an admirer, I can’t help but see echoes of Hemingway’s life and aesthetic in our brand ethos. From the vast plains of Africa to the shores of Key West and the vibrant Parisian social scene, his distinctive style resonates through every setting and serves as the blueprint for our cherished clothing line.
In the Spring/Summer 2025 collection, we combine Hemingway’s unique lifestyle and the fundamental elements of Engineered Garments – nostalgic outdoor pursuits like hunting and fishing, along with traditional American recreational aesthetics – to introduce a fresh urban exploration concept.
At its heart, the collection titled “Evoking the Spirit of the Lost Generation” reflects a theme deeply rooted in Hemingway’s affection for animals, particularly marlin and cats. A gecko becomes the central symbol in this design. The collection showcases a range of tailored jackets and printed outerwear, all featuring spacious pockets, strategic closure options, and adjustability features to ensure practicality and comfort.
