As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for the nuances of Bollywood and its iconic figures, I find Abhijeet Bhattacharya‘s heartfelt desire to mend his estranged relationship with Shah Rukh Khan both intriguing and admirable. Their collaboration in the 90s produced some of the most memorable tracks that still resonate today, and their chemistry was undeniably magical.
In the realm of Bollywood, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, a well-known playback singer, was responsible for some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most beloved hits in the 90s. However, they had a public disagreement, and now, the singer has expressed a wish to reconcile with the Bollywood megastar. To support his perspective, he cited that singers like Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, and others couldn’t match his fame in terms of popularity when it came to their songs.
In an open chat with Shubhankar Mishra for his YouTube channel, I, Abhijit Bhattacharya, reminisced about my special connection with Shah Rukh Khan. As a voice that once resonated with SRK and partnered with him on numerous chart-toppers, our paths crossed professionally but unfortunately, we faced a rift which I’ve shared extensively. Now, I am eager to rebuild our friendship.
He explained that the SRK are ideal for each other, reflecting on their chemistry and successful collaboration. He emphasized that their reconciliation is more significant for the sake of words.
“We are made for each other, like husband and wife, “Bhattacharya explained.
The performer, on occasion asserting that recent tunes by other artists were fitting homage to him, upheld his argument. He clarified that, in his opinion, neither Udit Narayan nor Kumar Sanu could match the quality of his own songs.
Abhijeet mentioned, “Do you recall any of his latest tunes? Following my performance, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu provided vocals for him, yet those tracks didn’t quite compare to those from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Darr.
Additionally, he pointed out that his relationship with Pathaan was never particularly close, as they only crossed paths at song launches and events tied to their movie projects because he avoids Bollywood parties. Nevertheless, he believes Shah Rukh Khan could have taken the lead in resolving the issue, but he wasn’t seeking an apology. Instead, he prefers working together on creating quality music.
Abhijeet went on to mention that SRK’s peers often didn’t view him with full respect. In fact, they often nicknamed him “the stammerer.
In case you’re not already aware, Abhijeet Bhattacharya lent his voice to several well-known songs for Shah Rukh Khan. Some examples include “Tumne Jo Maine Dekha” from Main Hoon Na, “Tauba Tumhare Ishare” from Chalte Chalte, and “Zara Sa Jhoom Loon Mein” from the classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, just to name a few.
