As a seasoned crypto investor with over a decade of experience navigating the digital asset landscape, I’ve learned to keep my guard up at all times. The recent string of hacking incidents targeting Solana meme investors and popular accounts like Brett, Kick Streaming, and Alex Blania is a stark reminder that cybercriminals are always on the prowl.
Approximately 15 user accounts have been breached in a recent incident, allowing hackers to create fraudulent Solana meme coins and reportedly accumulate around half a million dollars in profits.
It was uncovered by the cyber-sleuth ZachXBT on December 24th that a fraudster, aiming at Solana (SOL) meme investors and certain webpages, has raked in approximately half a million dollars by advertising fake tokens through hacked social media accounts.
Accounts such as Brett (BRETT), Kick Streaming, and Alex Blania were hacked in separate incidents. Each compromised page broadcasted a new cryptocurrency and provided a contract address, luring innocent users into investing Solana (SOL).
ZachXBT has identified approximately fifteen occurrences since November 26th, each one seemingly part of a coordinated attempt by an unidentified malicious party.
Every one of the 15 Attacker’s Tactics Onchain (ATOs) were linked by tracing the deployer’s address for each fraudulent activity.
In order to confuse the origin of the funds, the attacker repeatedly shuttled between Solana and Ethereum.

How the X hackers gained access
In my analysis, ZachXBT uncovered that unscrupulous individuals resorted to using intimidation strategies to pilfer passwords and other sensitive data. These cybercriminals pretended to be representatives from X’s customer service, alleging that the users had breached their terms of use and copyright regulations.
Since Elon Musk acquired the previously known Twitter, it has transformed into a worldwide public gathering place or town square. The platform’s emphasis on promoting free speech and compensating content creators has attracted even more ventures to establish their presence on the social media network.
1) Hackers have exploited X’s popularity by flooding users with phishing emails, taking advantage of the anxiety people often feel when they think they might lose their social media accounts. ZachXBT recommended that the public should “minimize using the same email address across different platforms” and also suggested using “security keys for two-factor authentication on critical accounts” to enhance personal cyber security.
