As a dedicated follower of Aamir Khan’s career and personal journey, I find his openness about his struggles and triumphs deeply inspiring. The way he candidly discusses his battles with self-doubt and bad habits like excessive drinking alcohol makes him more relatable and human.
As a devoted admirer, I’d share that Aamir Khan, Bollywood’s renowned perfectionist, has consistently been transparent about the various stages of his professional path. Lately, this talented actor has revealed some of the hurdles he encountered during the initial phase of his career, including overcoming insecurities about his height and battling a harmful habit of excessive alcohol consumption.
During an open discussion with seasoned actor Nana Patekar on the Zee Music YouTube channel, the performer revealed significant aspects of his personal journey. He talked about confronting feelings of insecurity due to his height, overcoming self-doubt as a result, and giving up consumption of alcohol.
Looking back at the early stages of his career, Aamir Khan confessed that he often felt self-conscious about his height. He was concerned that audiences might not accept him as well as taller actors because of his relatively short stature.
He expressed, “Once upon a time, I harbored the worry that others might reject me due to my height. That was my concern. However, over time, I came to understand that none of this is significant. Yet, during that period, a hint of insecurity would occasionally surface.
As I tread my path as a follower of Dangal, I’ve come to recognize the value of producing quality work and nurturing strong connections with others. Over time, I’ve chosen to set aside my personal reservations, focusing instead on growth and harmony.
During the same discussion, they talked about their less desirable habits. Nana confessed that he struggles with self-discipline. In response, Khan shared his past struggles with indiscipline but emphasized that his work life has always been disciplined. He also disclosed that he previously smoked a pipe and consumed large amounts of alcohol throughout the night. Yet, now he’s managed to break free from that habit.
He admitted, “I find myself stuck in my ways, acting as an unyielding individual. This isn’t something positive, and I acknowledge it. I understand that I’m making mistakes, and I wish I could change, but for some reason, I can’t.
In terms of professional commitments, Aamir Khan has been actively promoting his movie Laapataa Ladies, which represented India at the Oscars, however, it didn’t advance any further. On the other hand, he is preparing for his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, a follow-up to the 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par. Furthermore, he is involved in the production of Lahore 1947, where Sunny Deol takes on the main role.
