As a seasoned researcher with a knack for deciphering complex financial systems, I can confidently attest to the importance of KYC verification in the Pi Network’s transition to the Open Network. Having navigated through numerous blockchain projects and their intricacies, I can assure you that this step is not only essential but also crucial for a smooth and inclusive migration process.
With the upcoming Q1 2025 launch of the Open Network by Pi Network, the priority now lies in making sure as many early adopters are prepared to transition to the Mainnet. A significant aspect of this preparation involves finalizing Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before the launch. This process is vital because it opens up full involvement in the Pi network’s ecosystem.
Why KYC Matters for the Open Network
Performing KYC (Know Your Customer) is crucial for making sure that Pi Network’s move to the Open Network operates flawlessly and caters to a wide range of participants. By fulfilling the KYC requirements, pioneers can guarantee they will be able to utilize their Pi tokens once the Open Network becomes operational. The aim is to bridge the divide between the number of users who have completed the KYC procedure and those transitioning to the Mainnet.
To ensure a wider participation, it’s crucial to minimize the disparity between Pioneers who have completed Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures and those who have migrated to Mainnet. Our goal is to involve as many of these individuals as we can in building the Open Network!

As a researcher involved in the development of the Open Network, I am eager to ensure that a multitude of trailblazers are given the chance to actively contribute to our ecosystem when it goes live. By onboarding more users who have completed the KYC process and transferring their Pi to the Mainnet, we can foster increased engagement. This heightened involvement will, in turn, strengthen and stabilize our ecosystem, making it more resilient and robust.
Moving more early adopters to the Mainnet prior to the launch of the Open Network will strengthen its user interaction and overall robustness. This action will minimize the number of unconfirmed accounts, allowing the network to establish a strong base for transitioning to the Open Network. This will facilitate smooth transactions and encourage trust among users.
For those trailblazers who’ve been instrumental in introducing new users and developing Security Circles, the Know Your Customer (KYC) procedure holds significant value. As more users finish KYC and transition to the Mainnet, the individuals who have aided in the network’s expansion will reap direct benefits.
If members from the pioneer groups and security networks transition smoothly, those who initially referred them will be granted extra Pi tokens as a bonus, proportional to the bonus Pi they earned through their referrals.
As the Open Network is scheduled to debut in early 2025, Pi Network is encouraging all trailblazers to finish the Identity Verification process promptly. This will prepare them to take full advantage of the ecosystem, contribute to its expansion, and seize the benefits the Open Network has to offer.
