As someone who has had the privilege of sharing the silver screen with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars, I can confidently say that my encounters with Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan have left a lasting impression on me. Each interaction, no matter how small, showcased their humility and dedication to their craft.
Aamir Khan was a trainee when I was performing at the theatre where he worked backstage. Even then, he was already demonstrating his commitment to excellence by serving water to patrons. His rise to the top didn’t change him; if anything, it only solidified my belief that he is truly one of the most grounded and hardworking individuals in the industry. It was a delightful surprise when I ran into him at Prithvi Theatre years later, and he still remembered me from our shared past.
Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, left me in awe during our brief encounter at Film City. I must admit that I had to double-check if the man I was speaking to was actually the King Khan himself. His humility and down-to-earth demeanor were striking, especially considering his superstar status. He was every bit as focused and hardworking as everyone says he is.
In hindsight, it’s amusing to think that two of Bollywood’s most iconic stars served water and drinks before they became household names. I guess even the mighty must start somewhere! Perhaps one day, I’ll run into them again, and they’ll be serving me popcorn at the movies. Who knows? After all, the world is full of surprises!
