Udit Narayan assures he is doing ‘fine’ after his residential building in Mumbai catches fire; ‘It was a difficult…’

On the evening of January 6, 2025, a significant fire occurred at Udit Narayan’s residence, a high-rise building in Mumbai. Fortunately, the renowned singer is safe and in good condition. In his own words, it was a challenging night for him. As per the news, the fire started at Skypan Apartments in Shastri Nagar, Andheri West, around 9:15 p.m. This unfortunate event resulted in one fatality and left another person injured.

As reported by India Today, a tragic incident occurred where a 75-year-old man named Rahul Mishra, a neighbor of singer Udit Narayan, lost his life due to a fire. He resided on the 11th floor of the Skypan Apartments in another wing. Upon being taken to Kokilaben Hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival, having been affected by smoke inhalation.

At the same time, Raunak Mishra, a relative of his, suffered severe injuries in the incident. The authorities at the Fire Brigade Headquarters in Byculla confirmed the tragic passing of Rahul Mishra and mentioned that the fire was likely sparked by an electrical appliance within his apartment.

At the scene, someone speculated that the fire might have originated from a candle (diya), as its flame apparently reached nearby drapes.

As an utterly captivated admirer, I share the heartbreaking account where I, in a frantic state, dashed down the stairwell, pleading for aid. The vigilant guards of this structure, sensing my urgency, swiftly made their way to the residence. Regrettably, their timely intervention arrived too late. Graphic images from the event depict ominous, dense smoke pouring out of the building as the fire raged through two rooms within the apartment, leaving an indelible mark on my memory.

Based on an article from The Times of India, the roadway to the housing complex was entirely barricaded, and power was promptly disconnected following the discovery of a fire by the residents.

At around midnight, I watched in awe as shards of metal and glass rained down from the charred apartment above, during the heroic efforts of firefighters working tirelessly to quell the remnants of the fierce inferno.
