Farah Khan says Aamir Khan ‘grilled’ her on sets of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar; reveals how life has come ‘full circle’ as she works with his son Junaid

Farah Khan, the mastermind behind many beloved Bollywood movies, recently opened up about her captivating career in the film industry. In this conversation, she reminisced about collaborating with Aamir Khan, Sridevi, and now their children, Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor. This, to her, was a heartfelt moment of coming full circle. She also recounted an amusing incident from the set of ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar‘, where Aamir playfully quizzed her.

In a recent conversation with ETimes, director Farah Khan expressed her enthusiasm for collaborating with Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, offspring of Aamir Khan and the late Sridevi. Looking back on her career, she mused, “It seems like life has come full circle.

In simpler terms, she mentioned that her professional journey began by performing the hit song “Pehla Nasha (Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar)” with Aamir Khan. She also reminisced about his intense questioning on set, and now, she’s preparing to choreograph Junaid Khan for an upcoming movie.

Later on, she commented, “In the past, when I was creating dances for Sridevi, she was an enormous star. Now, it feels dreamlike to be directing Khushi instead.

Farah recognized the evolution in her career path, moving from an apprentice working alongside parents initially, to now offering her accumulated knowledge and experience as a skilled professional, helping guide their kids.

The choreographer shared stories of her less-than-perfect moments in the kitchen, including a humorous incident during the filming of Dil Chahta Hai in Australia. While cooking yakhni pulao in small pots on an induction cooker, she was interrupted by a phone call from her boyfriend at the time.

During a chat, Farah Khan found herself so engrossed in the conversation that she didn’t notice the passage of time. Suddenly, the fire alarms blared, and it turned out that dinner she was cooking, yakhni pulao, had burnt. The entire building was filled with the aroma of burnt pulao, causing Farah to feel embarrassed as people reacted to the incident. The rest of the evening was spent with everyone giving her funny looks.

Besides discussing her path as a director, Farah mentioned that she had directed four movies: Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007), Tees Maar Khan (2010), and Happy New Year (2014). Although Tees Maar Khan didn’t meet expectations, she expressed a sense of pride in the achievements of the other three films.

As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but express the immense pride I feel from being granted the chance to guide some of the nation’s most illustrious talents, having spent years perfecting my craft alongside these stars as a choreographer.

In the meantime, Junaid Khan (son of Aamir Khan) and Khushi Kapoor (daughter of Sridevi) are gearing up for their second movie, Loveyapa, where they’ll captivate viewers. To make this romantic comedy even more exciting, Farah Khan has created a much-awaited song that remains undisclosed as of now.

In the setting of modern-day romance, Loveyapa offers a compelling story filled with memorable performances, catchy tunes, and visually striking scenes. Joining Junaid and Khushi in this production are Grusha Kapoor, Ashutosh Rana, Tanvika Parlikar, and Kiku Sharda.
