Whitney Cummings has not been red-pilled. She said so herself.
In an unexpected move, I seared the Democrats’ position during CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast. Later, I reiterated my stance more strongly through a subsequent episode of my podcast.
And she wasn’t done.
She just excoriated California Democrats for their role in the raging west coast wildfires.
If you choose to contribute to California fire relief efforts, it’s wonderful! However, it’s astonishing that such donations are necessary from the public, given the state receives substantial tax revenue from its residents. It seems unfortunate that charitable giving and generous individuals have become a common solution when the government should provide adequate support.

That’s not how your average Hollywood celebrity acts. At least not until recently.
As a movie enthusiast, I’d like to share that the phrase “red pilled” originated from the 1999 film masterpiece, “The Matrix,” starring none other than Keanu Reeves. In this blockbuster, characters were presented with a choice: to remain in a simulated reality (the matrix) or to take the red pill and awaken to the harsh truth about the world – a stark contrast from the deceptive narratives spun by those in power.
In everyday terms, this statement could be rephrased as: When people who identify as liberal realize that the media’s portrayal of progressive ideas is often misleading, Cummings recognizes the true meaning of the phrase and maintains it doesn’t fit her situation. However, a casual observer might have a different opinion.
Chances are comedian Jim Gaffigan would also reject the label.
Despite maintaining a strong progressive stance, the PG-rated comic has shown a slight adjustment in his approach, acknowledging that his intense criticism of former President Trump may have estranged certain fans. Additionally, he expressed frustration towards fellow progressives for failing to provide constructive criticism during the last presidential election campaign.
(His brutal impression of Gov. Tim Walz helped seal the leader’s fate as a feckless “knucklehead”)

Would Gaffigan have embraced such a hard-hitting impression prior to 2024?
It appears that others are more inclined towards undergoing their “red-pill” change (a term often used in online discussions to denote a sudden political awakening or shift in beliefs). Actor Zachary Levi, known for his role in “Shazam!”, publicly endorsed former President Donald Trump at the end of last year, which he referred to as a potentially detrimental move for his career.
Post-election, Sylvester Stallone did the same, abandoning decades of political neutrality.
I found myself treading a trail forged by notable figures on the center-left spectrum, such as Rob Schneider, Dr. Drew Pinsky, Justine Bateman, and Jillian Michaels, to name a few.
What’s going on? And will the raging California fires red-pill more progressive stars?
As a movie lover, I’ve been struck by the heartbreaking sight of stars observing their homes and communities being engulfed by flames. Meanwhile, as late-night comedians shield Democratic figures who seemingly rule the roost, it seems that celebrities are finally awakening to the ineffectiveness of their leadership.
It’s impossible to deny and even harder to ignore.

Certain stars adhere to a more advanced script, among them directors like Jim Jarmusch and Barbra Streisand. Others might cast a fresh, skeptical eye on their Democratic leaders.
It’ll get worse sooner than later, says Adam Carolla.
A renowned podcaster is well-versed in the intricacies of California’s bureaucratic processes that often delay home construction initiatives. Picture a group of celebrities attempting to restart their lives, only to find themselves entangled in these complex procedures for months, or even years.
As a devoted cinephile, I can’t help but ponder Carolla’s perspective on the potential political swing of California towards the right. While it seems improbable at this moment, his prediction intrigues me. He hints that we might witness an increase in celebrities who lean more conservative, akin to embracing the “red pill” philosophy.
It’s likely that voters will hold accountable the politicians who are culpable by choosing different leaders who propose more effective policies at the polls.
