As a lifestyle expert reflecting on recent events, I’ve been deeply saddened by the destructive wildfires that have ravaged parts of California – my home state. Just last week, my cousin Alanna Panday, who resides there, took a trip down memory lane, sharing cherished moments from Malibu with her son River. In these times, it’s hard to fathom the emotions of those residents as they face such devastating destruction.
On January 13th, 2025, Alanna Panday posted a collection of pictures on Instagram that featured her past visit to Malibu, California. These images showed Alanna cradling her son River while appreciating the pier, as well as a moment where she sat in a café with River perusing the menu. Additionally, there were some beautiful shots capturing the beachfront scenery and their delightful meal together.
In her caption, Alanna expressed amazement that they had visited the location just a week prior, only for it to be destroyed by fire now. She went on to emphasize the importance of this spot, explaining that it was a cherished family destination and where they first brought River as a newborn baby.
She remarked, ‘It’s hard to fathom the emotions of those who used to reside in that place. Our sympathy extends to every individual who has lost their homes and businesses.’

Previously, Alanna Panday shared some news about her family’s safety. She penned down, “We had to cut short our ski vacation upon learning about the fires. We journeyed towards Los Angeles amidst smoke-filled skies, hastily gathering our belongings into a few suitcases or whatever could fit in the back of our car.
The member of the tribe noted, “At present, we are quite near two fires, but there isn’t a Level 3 evacuation alert issued as of now. For now, we remain secure, and I appreciate the concern shown by those who have gotten in touch.
