2025 is barely started, but top-notch streaming platforms aren’t holding their best content for later. This week alone offers a wealth of excellent movies and TV shows across various genres. Whether you’re curious about what’s coming up on Netflix, eagerly waiting for the next release on Disney+, or juggling multiple streaming services, deciding which app to open first can sometimes be challenging due to the abundance of choices.
Excitedly speaking, I can’t help but share my enthusiasm for the arrival of some eagerly awaited new seasons of beloved TV shows, not to mention the grand finale of one of the most captivating new streaming series. To top it off, a Netflix movie that we previously thought might remain unseen is now within our reach! Here’s what you can expect on your streaming platforms this week.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Finale – January 14 (Disney+)
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has been a fantastic justification for subscribing to Disney+ in the past year, as it’s been an enjoyable, humorous, and thrilling ride. Sadly, this week marks the final episode of the series, but whether we’ll get more remains uncertain and could heavily rely on how the season concludes.
Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy – January 14 (Peacock)
As the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs approaches in May, the musician and business tycoon is expected to remain a topic of interest for the upcoming months. The happenings at his extravagant parties, leading up to this point, are being explored in a new series titled “Diddy: The Creation of Bad Boy“. This documentary could potentially shed light on some of the fans’ most pressing questions, although Diddy’s legal team has already expressed concerns about the show and questioned the authenticity of those involved.
With Love, Meghan – January 15 (Netflix)
Meghan Markle tends to generate a significant amount of attention, one way or another, for her actions. This is also true for her latest project from the Netflix deal she made with her husband after departing the royal family, titled “With Love, Meghan“. However, the series has already attracted strong criticism as it features the Duchess of Sussex providing cooking and gardening tips, among other advice.
Harley Quinn, Season 5 – January 16 (Max)
A fresh DC Universe (DCU) titled “Creature Commandos” by James Gunn has premiered on Max, yet it doesn’t imply that all non-DCU animated projects are obsolete. In case you have a Max subscription, season 5 of the ultra-violent animated series “Harley Quinn” is launching this week.
Severance, Season 2 – January 17 (Apple TV+)
Approaching three years now since the premiere of “Severance”, if you’ve maintained your Apple TV+ subscription in anticipation of Season 2, your perseverance is about to bear fruit. Early critical reception for “Severance” Season 2 has been favorable, suggesting that the wait might just have proven valuable.
Back in Action -January 17 (Netflix)
The title “Back in Action” suits this movie perfectly, considering that Jamie Foxx almost didn’t complete its production. During filming, Foxx experienced a health crisis that made news headlines. Fortunately, he recovered well, with seemingly minimal long-term effects. This Netflix-streamable film features Foxx and Cameron Diaz, who came out of retirement for the role, as a married couple and former CIA agents, forced to return to their past line of work after they started their family.
This week offers an impressive lineup, whether you’re into new hit series or big-name films, across various streaming services.
