It can safely be concluded that Samsung had a packed schedule at this year’s CES exhibition. The South Korean company unveiled numerous updates across their diverse product lines, ranging from artificial intelligence and audio technologies to lifestyle products and gaming solutions – it seemed like Samsung had offerings catering to various interests.
Nevertheless, amidst all the commotion, Samsung’s 2025 monitor collection catches the eye, due to its intriguing and innovative nature. This year, five new models will be introduced across the Smart, Odyssey, and ViewFinity series, boasting two “first-of-their-kind” features in the industry.
In more straightforward terms, Samsung’s Odyssey series of monitors have been consistently rated as some of the top gaming monitors available on the market over the past few years. The latest models to join this line-up are the OLED G6 and OLED G8, each offering unique innovations in their respective categories.
As a passionate gamer, I can vouch for the Samsung OLED G6 being an unparalleled gaming experience. It boasts an unprecedented 500Hz refresh rate, a game-changing innovation in OLED screen technology that truly redefines speed. This 32-inch beauty offers a QHD screen resolution (2,560 by 1,440 pixels), although not 4K, it doesn’t fall short when it comes to performance. It supports both AMD’s FreeSync and NVIDIA’s G-Sync technologies, ensuring the smoothest gameplay possible from even the most demanding games.
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over Samsung’s latest innovation – the G8 OLED display. Compact yet brimming with ingenuity, this 27-inch marvel boasts an impressive 4K resolution, cramming a staggering 8 million pixels into its sleek frame. The result? A visually stunning, highly detailed viewing experience that doesn’t compromise on quality.
What sets the G8 apart is its more accessible, compact form factor. Despite its smaller size, it delivers a monitor experience on par with larger models. And to top it off, Samsung claims this as the world’s first 4K OLED monitor in its class. Simply put, the G8 is a game-changer for those seeking high-quality visuals without sacrificing space.
Option: Both models boast an almost imperceptible 0.03ms response time, Samsung claims, delivering “seamless visuals and immersive gameplay.” Moreover, they incorporate VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 technology, ensuring the deepest blacks and most vibrant dark colors without any halo effect or color spillover. Lastly, these screens are anti-glare, allowing gamers to experience fewer reflections and less disruptive light while gaming.
As an enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the third monitor in the latest Odyssey trio – the Odyssey 3D. This stunning 27-inch gaming screen transforms my 2D content into immersive 3D experiences! Utilizing advanced AI, it intelligently “assesses and converts” video content on-screen, offering a fresh perspective for gamers to enjoy their beloved titles in a whole new light.
Samsung has expanded its line of smart monitors by launching the Smart Monitor M9, a device that boasts an innovative industry-first feature: built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Unlike traditional cloud-based AI, the M9’s AI engine is directly integrated into the device itself, ensuring quicker responses to commands, requests, or actions.
One of the unique AI capabilities of the M9 includes its ability to identify the genre of a game being played and then optimize its picture settings accordingly for an enhanced gaming experience. Another notable feature is Samsung’s 4K AI Upscaling Pro technology, which leverages a neural network to improve the quality of low-resolution content automatically.
Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that Samsung has expanded its ViewFinity series with the arrival of the ViewFinity S8. This latest model boasts a 37-inch screen, making it the “largest 16:9 4K monitor currently available.
The brand hasn’t disclosed the release date or price details just yet, but we’ll keep you posted with any new information that comes our way.
