OMEGA Releases a Duo of Speedmaster Moonphase Watches With Meteorite Dials

OMEGA introduced the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite series, which includes two 43mm stainless steel watches. These latest additions maintain a link with the cosmos through the use of actual meteorite pieces on their faces.

The gray model with galvanic coating has a dial plate in shimmering blue PVD, along with a matching blue ceramic bezel. It also boasts gold hour markers and hands that have been given a tonal PVD coating. Meanwhile, the black-dial version sports indices and a handset made from 18k gold, which contrast beautifully with its black ceramic bezel adorned with a white enamel tachymeter scale.

At the 6:00 position, the moonphase display showcases two authentic Moon meteorite Moon symbols rotating to mimic the varying lunar phases observed from different hemispheres. The celestial backdrop includes stars arranged as they were when Apollo 11 touched down on the Moon in 1969, as seen from OMEGA’s headquarters in Switzerland.

Peering through the sapphire glass back, you can see that the watch operates with the self-winding Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9914. This mechanism is resistant to magnetism up to 15,000 gauss, providing METAS-certified accuracy and chronometric reliability.
