Country star Orville Peck will make his Broadway debut as the Emcee in Cabaret this spring.
Peck, famous for donning his distinctive mask and albums such as “Pony,” “Bronco,” and “Stampede,” will star alongside Tony nominee Eva Noblezada in the role of Sally Bowles. The duo is set to perform together in a 16-week run commencing on March 31st.
On March 29th, I’ll be saying goodbye to the enchanting roles that Adam Lambert and Auli‘i Cravalho have brought to life. They stepped into these parts after Eddie Redmayne and Gayle Rankin opened the musical on Broadway in April. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness their stunning performances.
As a music enthusiast, I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with some remarkable artists such as Willie Nelson, Elton John, Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue, and Beck. In my acting career, I honed my skills at the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, even earning a nomination for an Olivier Award in a West End production.
Peck expressed amazement that he’s finally getting his Broadway debut in one of his cherished shows, playing what might just be his favorite role in musical theater. He spent much of his youth in the theater, and before delving into music, he was a dedicated actor and dancer. For years, he grinded and fought to create opportunities for himself. Though it was challenging, those experiences have shaped him significantly as both an artist and a person. Therefore, coming back to theater at this point in his career feels like a beautiful completion of that journey.
Following a packed season on Broadway, Noblezada is set to take on a new role. The Tony-nominated actress who starred in Hadestown and Miss Saigon will wrap up her performance as Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby on Broadway by January 30th. Subsequently, she’ll be part of the West End production of Hadestown for a brief period before moving on to Cabaret.
During my time studying musical theater, it was ‘Cabaret’ that consistently caught my attention. I continue to be awestruck by the illustrious theater figures who have graced the stage in this production. To me, Sally Bowles is nothing short of captivating,” Noblezada expressed.
As a gamer, I’d rephrase that into:
In the immersive world of ‘Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club’, directed by Rebecca Frecknall, I find myself in the shoes of Bebe Neuwirth, portraying Fraulein Schneider. Calvin Leon Smith plays my character, Clifford Bradshaw, while Steven Skybell brings Herr Schultz to life. Henry Gottfried embodies Ernst Ludwig and Michelle Aravena breathes life into Fritzie/Kost. This theatrical journey is an engaging experience I can’t wait to explore!
