2025 marks the comeback of NBC’s series, Found, following a two-month hiatus since the Season 2 winter finale left Margaret and Gabi in turmoil, pursuing Sir once again. You can catch up on the last episode of 2024 by subscribing to Peacock. The story continues for these characters when the series returns on January 16. Intriguingly, Danielle Savre makes her debut as a new character since wrapping up Station 19, and she shares with TopMob her excitement about portraying Heather, while expressing the need to control her enthusiasm as a fan of the show herself.
Danielle Savre was confirmed for her role in Season 2 of ‘Found’ much earlier than Shanola Hampton and Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s show, which aired in the 2024 TV schedule. As a result, fans have been eagerly anticipating her portrayal of Heather Tollin, a complex attorney who forms an intriguing bond with Brett Dalton’s character Trent (depicted in the clip). I had a chance to speak with Savre before her debut on ‘Found’, and she discussed what attracted her to the show as her first project following ‘Station 19’:
Primarily, it was the script that captivated me. As I read through it, I found myself drawn to the dialogue. It felt effortless to understand and connect with the character in an engaging way. I was intrigued by her enigma, yet equally thrilled about this ambitious woman who entered the scene. One of the scenes I auditioned with, interestingly enough, wasn’t a scene that ultimately made it to the final cut. However, it served as a powerful introduction to the character, conveying much about her without revealing too much. The playful, clever dialogue was what initially drew me to the audition for Found and led me to accept the role and become a part of this production.
Absolutely, Savre won’t be back on TV reprising Maya 2.0 following her stint on Station 19, and fans can look forward to some sharp-witted dialogue from her fresh character. A taste of this is already visible in the morning after clip featuring Heather and Trent sharing a bed, and it’s likely that there’s more to come. She clarified that the scene she auditioned for wasn’t excised from a script, but was never intended to be part of it at all.
The first scene I found particularly engaging was the one that felt like a clever misdirection during the audition process, making it even more impressive due to its well-crafted writing. If given the chance, I would have jumped at the opportunity to perform that scene. However, it primarily served as a misdirection for the show’s potential actors, but it still accurately portrayed her character. The other memorable scene was the one featuring Brett in the episode’s opening, which I enjoyed acting out. Essentially, these two scenes offered a balance: the first allowed me to embody a full-fledged lawyer, complete with a trial and quick wit, while the second provided an opportunity to portray her seductive side with Trent.
Writing a scene tailored for an audition effectively prevents storyline secrets from being revealed! This tactic successfully drew Danielle Savre in, and her new character has depth that’s intriguing. Joining a series midway through its second season can be challenging, but Danielle carefully planned her entrance:
She meticulously prepared for her role by adopting a direct strategy.
I devoured every single episode, calling it a binge-watching session. I couldn’t help but exclaim, “This show is exceptional!” [laughs] It truly embodies the quality of the writing. As soon as I read those scenes, I found myself saying, “This writing is outstanding,” and I believe that speaks volumes about Nkechi Okoro Carroll and her team in the writing room. They are exceptionally talented writers, and this talent shines brightly in Season 2. The words flow seamlessly from your lips when reading their work.
Danielle Savre developed into a fan as she watched through the available episodes in one go, which made her initial day on set with Brett Dalton more challenging since they hadn’t crossed paths until the day they filmed their scene together for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the show where Danielle had yet to meet the antagonist. With a smile, she added:
(In this version, I have tried to simplify the sentence structure and use more casual language while still maintaining the original meaning.)
Before reporting to set for the first time with Brett, I had already watched everything multiple times. The issue was that I became so enthused about the role and characters that when I met everyone on set, I would find myself exclaiming, “I adore you on the show!” However, I needed to remind myself, “Take it easy. Take it easy. Yes, you’re a fan, but you’re also an actor in this production.” [laughs] Consequently, I had to reign in my excitement whenever I encountered a new cast member on set.
The actress will reappear as Heather during the second half of Season 2, providing fans with a chance to witness her interactions with the M&A crisis management team alongside Trent. It appears that there’s plenty of intrigue surrounding Heather, and we’re almost at the point where we can finally see it unfold. In the upcoming episode “Missing While Targeted,” Savre’s debut on Found will involve M&A investigating a missing recovering addict, while Sir uncovers startling information about one of their associates. And as always with Found, it seems there will be unexpected obstacles along the way that will stir things up for Gabi and the rest.
Don’t miss out! NBC is airing the winter premiere of Found Season 2 on Thursday, January 16 at 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Before that, catch a tense episode of Law & Order: SVU featuring Peter Scanavino’s Carisi at 9 p.m. ET and the original Law & Order at 8 p.m. ET. You can also stream all three shows on Peacock right now!
