Panjab 95 Teaser OUT: Diljit Dosanjh tells tale of bravery portraying Jaswant Singh Khalra in upcoming biopic; movie to only release internationally

Diljit Dosanjh is all set to shine brightly once more on our screens. The tantalizing teaser for Panjab 95 has been released across streaming platforms, and fans of this versatile artist are eagerly waiting to see him in a fresh portrayal. However, the creators of the movie have announced that it will only premiere in international cinemas. Diljit himself unveiled the initial trailer on his Instagram, and he also disclosed through the caption that there will be no edits or cuts throughout the film.

The film’s introduction features Arjun Rampal narrating his doubts about the state’s democracy. Throughout the teaser, various significant historical occurrences are highlighted. However, it becomes evident that the movie will revolve around Jaswant Singh Khalra, a real-life activist who aimed to unravel the mystery surrounding Sukhdev’s disappearance.

Regarding the actor Diljit, he fully immerses himself in his roles by taking photographs and searching for movie hints. Earlier, the Lover’s vocalist shared behind-the-scenes glimpses of an upcoming project through his Instagram account. In these images, it appears that the actor was leaning against a wall with bloody makeup on his head.

Instead of releasing the film domestically, the creators chose to premiere it internationally following the Censor Board’s suggestion for 120 edits due to the potentially contentious nature of the movie.

Additionally, the movie had been delayed for approximately two years before ultimately announcing its release date. Yet, in the year 2022, the film was shown to the Khalra family, who commended the effort put into it and expressed contentment with the entire narrative.

Panjab 95 is directed by Honey Trehan and is scheduled to hit theaters on February 7.
